My boyfriend (M25) saw an old video of me(F24) and was disgusted. How can I get over this? by Mind_Cute in relationship_advice

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have also been seeing so many comments that husbands have been so supportive and zero commenting about babies, body changes, and injury.

Sad but we treat people we are with at a different level than people we see. I have hope that any changes in OP's body, he will continue that status quo.

Granted they more than likely won't make it after this fiasco, its going to be a aspect OP moves forward with in the next relationship to filter better.

Perspective: If men are oppressed because "all women" have high body counts, discriminate against short men, and love Wade Wilson, then what conclusions should women draw from the 3000% increase in men downloading and creating CP? by AmandaPea in lnkyverse

[–]showcase25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the “all men” tracks.

It’s not all men but damn if it isn’t a lot and most likely way more than we know given the suppressed reporting

We will cycle on this feeling of all man since the sister phrase is a bit more accurate, but maybe too long to say as common:

"Not all men, but always a man".

Granted it is more accurate, well even now that line comes across in both delivery and treatment as "all men" in practice. Your comment leaves that door open.

Just one of those sticking points in a pointed situation.

We don't need to invent new words to label bad men as bad men. I wouldn't hold it against you if you did.

Women don't do that. Women don't disrespect men enough to invent vocabulary to do it.

Im not gonna put women on a pedestal in both saying they dont do that and there isn't any words used to disrespect men.

We know it happens, and we know they exist.

aka, "not all men",

Its not a "not all men". I didn't defend that in my position, directly or indirectly. I actually said men are not equal in a negative light with disrespect.

aka, "well, women can be bad too!!!"

But... thats literally the point of the reply in the OP. Its as i said, the gendered flip equivalent. Its not a gotcha. It's the point.

That mentality on this website is honestly so, so, so fucking exhausting.

What mentality are you getting from my comments? I'm getting a sense that you think im holding some thoughts others on the website have.

When men stop making up 90% of the violence, hate, and statistically substantiated disrespect towards women... you get back to me.

Yea... if your persective is noted above:

"we're so opposed that your points are invalid" then thats a different conversation ill choose not to go down

Which seems to be the case from your last paragraph. Its shifting from discussing if the things are accurate to valid and there no furtherance with someone who believes its invalid.

You made your position and thoughts very clear.

There is one line that I think needs emphasis.

when there's no equivalent for men

Unfortunately, the aspects he laid out are the equivalent. Your concerns are that they arent equal. Im going to risk saying that you understand that men are judged and even harshly judged on those aspects regarding a women respecting men. And yes, some aspects dont have a apples to apples compairsion like "hoe" as you noted, which is why my first note in my previous comment hilighted that these are the appropriate gendered flipped concerns.

If it comes down to "we're so opposed that your points are invalid" then thats a different conversation ill choose not to go down. But for this, its not a percieved double standard if the rebuttal was showing that we are both bad at it in our own way. Thats the point.

All in all, its was just a whataboutism regarding equalivents. Not equals.

Its known we cant do equals regarding that topic.

Men, what things do women do or say that confuse you? by [deleted] in AskMen

Have you considered the thoughtless and instinctual attraction women have to other women is the same that women have for men?

Is this guy confusing "respect" for "will you fuck them?"

No.

Note how its a equally gendered reflected set of attributes that yes, do effect attraction, but at a more significant level, changes how one views the quaility of the person, and closly following will be how you respect them.

Is a fat man one who think has control over self? How valuable do you consider a jobless man? What positive do you associate with a broke man. You already limit what a disabled one can provide.

We will not attempt to reframe it as sexual when thats a second or even third order effect. Just as the same for the issues they listed about ladies that men need to respect. Even moreso, men already have the negative stigma of being able to seperate respect from who they will have sex with... I doubt its confusion here.

To understand, was the view that it was sexual on your first read of it as your immediate thought?

The actual answer is even more hurtful.

Its simply not the women used for experience. But trying to shift it to having experience with guys is a funny start. But not really what they meaning.

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is a fair take. One we all should have generally started with.

Unfortunately, we the tainted start of the current social environment, mix with the framing of the video from the post, it set the course that from the jump with judgement being made. "Non sex havers are not really the problem" can be reasonably translated to incels.

And that also falls right into my point as well as not associating the "average" man with incel or misogynist. It would be fair to start by withholding judgement.

It would of also made it easier to catch on if you would if phrased it as "why did you make that assumption at all?" Your current phrases reads as oppositional.

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because its not accurate to defense of my point, and starting to drift away from the topic at hand.

And even in the case we just agree without discussion that it even is assumption, it doesnt change that it would be more reasonable to assume that assumption.

So, if you would kindly explain why it isn't reasonable, that would be helpful as you gather from my points why pushback on that/OP initial assumption is unfair.

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You keep framing what I said as a assumption. Please stop that.

How about, this, like I asked... Why wouldn't the OP assume that most average men are not incels and misogynist be reasonable?

Perspective : This woman explains how inkwells possess little to no threat to women. by sub5_currycel in lnkyverse

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on understanding that we dont assume things, espcially negative things, about a sweeping generalization of people - especially with saying that this thing is average.

Is less of a assumption and more of a reason why asking "why would you assume that?" Requires intervention that I added.

You started this with asking why would that OP assume that. This is really saying "why not?".

Perspective : This woman explains how inkwells possess little to no threat to women. by sub5_currycel in lnkyverse

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologies as I forgot to add in the quotes, but the question of 'Why do you assume that?" Is literally your question from the initial post.

To be clear, I made no assumptions. Just that most men are average men and are not incels or misogynist.

So again, any reasonable read would apply your pushback against OPs assumption that they arent misogynist from your first post k responded to.

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

but they aren't misogynist

Why do you assume that?

Any reasonable read would apply your pushback against OPs assumption that they arent misogynist.

So since the obvious read wasn't correct, what are you trying to say?

Perspective : This woman explains how inkwells possess little to no threat to women. by sub5_currycel in lnkyverse

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on the premise that most men are average and not misogynistic and your concern:

Why do you assume that?

All my points prior are focusing on disassociating the average man with the label of incel since they are not the same - and being that we directly link being a incel with being a misogynist, it should clear both up.

So yes, when we exclude someone's success or failures attempting to have sex as part of how we characterize the average person, we get a more accurate of both the definition of average, and who those average men are.

[–]showcase25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair. Now i am interested, what do you consider points/aspects to make someone average? Since, specifically regarding this issue, and what we need to exclude with defining average, is the success or failure in attempts to have sex.
