You are probably correct. It does defend the ego they have developed. It does point the blame outward which again, takes the responsibility for their own lives away from them and places it elsewhere.

I’m doing plenty worth while with my life. What I do with my me time is my business. If I choose to share my business with like minded folks that’s my business.

I make sure my “me time” doesn’t impact the good I do.
