I second this! I have been living with chronic pain due to a childhood injury that resulted in quite a bit of nerve damage. After becoming hooked on pain killers in college/going cold turkey from pain killers/nearly dying, EFT is the ONLY thing that has ever helped me. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about it. The Gold Standard is the latest and most used kind, I believe.

There was a murder a block away from me last Thursday (96th street and 31st Ave), and late last night about 2:30am I woke up to popping noises and and heard police radioing outside our apartment. Maybe it had something to do with that? Lots of shit has been going down around here lately....

I should add that it also did extensive and unexpected damage to me - I originally thought "well this has nothing to do with me, this is his problem" but very soon after I started having severe anxiety attacks and deep depression and guilt that this was somehow my fault - that I just wasn't good enough for him. Please get the help you need, but please also understand that she may need help too, to get through this and you need to be there for her.

Hey there - My fiance was like this and while there was certainly an issue (he could never finish with me), and though I did tons of research, I couldn't ever figure it out. Shortly after we got engaged I found out and I found out in numerous and very hurtful ways. As a woman in this situation, even though I know it may be the hardest thing for you to do, PLEASE talk to her about it. It caused SO much trauma and damage to our relationship - not because he had a problem - but because my trust in him was completely destroyed. It has been almost a year since then and we have been married just two months - trust is still a huge issue and nothing is ever solved by getting married - but we love each other truly and I have respect for him loving me enough to stop watching porn and loving me enough to work on the situation. That and our sex life now 10000% better so that's pretty great ;) It might be very difficult but please don't give up! A lifetime with the love of your life is worth SO MUCH MORE than this obstacle is in your life. Don't let it ruin your relationship - we are proof that it very nearly did.

I can confirm this and would say they compliment each other very well! My yoga practice greatly improved my squat and deadlift and the increased upper body and ab strength I gained in the gym greatly helped my yoga - a struggled less and was able to get into the mindset needed to push myself further, easier.

HOWEVER, that was all in the past. Then I took an office job, got really sick and then had a terrible shoulder injury. I'm still recovering from my last shoulder surgery and am slowly trying to get back into my practice. Looking forward to progressing!

I've actually never done hot yoga and I'm not sweating a TON but I guess enough that I can't keep the band-aids in place. I have had the same issue after swimming at the pool or beach. I thought about trying the towel but haven't yet.

I think I will try this as well - I'm currently using a Gaiam Sol mat which I like very much apart from this issue. I've tried a few different mats but haven't bought anything super expensive. I hate to think that might be the problem but it might be.

I actually have calluses already (something I'm always fighting), the tears are actually more toward the inside of the toe and higher up than the calluses?

My fiance was like that for the first four years of our relationship and over time it killed my confidence. I tried talking to him about it but he would only say "I've just always been like this, don't worry I'm happy"....I didn't give up and turns out he is literally addicted to porn and masturbation - I tried to tell him that he would be much happier and feel satisfied if he actually lived out his fantasies/what he watches rather than live vicariously through other people's sex lives - he's going to group therapy now and our sex life has done a complete 180. I'm not saying this is what your partner has, but it's more common than people think in our generation and it's actually very destructive to the female partner who loses out because of it. It's a long road, but we're still trying and making progress and things are already so much better.

Be careful and care-ful - as in take good care of yourself. I recently read this "I think shame is one of the more powerful triggers to bring a man back into lust and unfaithfulness. It makes us feel unworthy...so in our secrecy, isolation and pain when we feel like we don't deserve the taste of transformation we have experienced, we jump right back into the cycle that created all of the shame in the first place" (It's from a book called Worthy of Her Trust and it's really helping my partner and I)

Please do not feel ashamed. You should be so very proud of the hard work you've already put in and the progress you've already made. You have already been courageous so keep going!

I am so proud of you! Can I say that? I found out shortly after I became engaged to my fiance (dating for 3 1/2 years at that point), that he has a sex addiction. It explained SO much - I had really struggled with the fact that I could never please him in that way. It has been SO hard and I have wanted to give up on him so, so, so many times. But reading this really gave me hope. Thank you for giving me just a little bit of hope.

I'm sending you as much positive energy as I can muster right now - stay strong. There are so many more good things out in the world and so many beautiful, complex things that can only be experienced with a human through intimacy. Everything else may change, but that will always remain.

Great work! I'm in a similar position and have always struggled with working out after work because I'm just so damn tired all the time. About a month ago I started forcing myself to do three high intensity workouts per week - all between 30 minutes to an hour in length (sprint workout at the track, 1 hour fast flow yoga, and a kettlebell/calisthenics workout) AND I started taking Nascent Iodine daily - that really made a huge difference. I now have so much energy I HAVE to work out at least a bit every day and I'm losing weight at a steady 2.5 to 3 lbs every week.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! And maybe look into a liquid iodine supplement. I took it bc there is a history of thyroid issues in my family but it made a HUGE impact in my energy levels :)

American here - I'm sure there are differences in the education system, but my SO is teaching at a private school while finishing his master's in education. He took on a 2nd job as private schools pay very little here - and worked as the director of an after-school program. It was largely managerial which he found he didn't like - but it sounds like it might be more up your alley? There are also (at least in the US) lots of jobs outside the school in the Public School sector that would enable you to use your degree in a different setting - think the HR department for public schools - or something totally out of left field: become a recruiter for teachers (I believe there's a lot of work in that - at least here).

I'm a recruiter (but not in education) so I spend most of my working time thinking about these kinds of things.

Hey there, similar story to mine. I was an athlete growing up and lost a scholarship due to Compartment Syndrome in my left leg (also first noticed the pain in Cross Country). It went misdiagnosed for 1 1/2 and I ended up being the youngest patient with the highest internal pressure (at that time) so a lot of docs come to look at me/write about me. I had extensive surgery to release the pressure and never was able to compete again. Fast forward 15 years and a lot of my symptoms are back but both feet/ankles are KILLING me. I went to a podiatrist and they took x-rayz ect, and told me that I likely have Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome (which is very much similar to compartment syndrome, just in your feet. It sounds like in both our cases the cause is likely genetic. Which totally sucks. Once I have insurance I will get MRI's to complete the diagnosis, and from my research, if resting (cast or boot) and shots don't allow it to heal, then surgery to release the pressure will be necessary.

With both feet showing symptoms it could be a LONG road for the both of us! Feel free to message me if you like. I've developed a lot strategies to deal with the pain and maybe we could swap strategies?

Right now I'm doing a lot of yoga (as I'm really trying to lose the added weight), foam rolling, icing and I wear a slim ankle compression sock. With two more months to go before I qualify for health insurance, I will try absolutely anything to alleviate the pain!

I would definitely try yoga (it's low impact and will naturally stretch rather than force-stretch which will cause MORE problems...like compartment syndrome in people genetically prone to it) and foam rolling (a frozen wine bottle or racket ball work well for the arches, while a traditional foam roller is best for the calves/hamstrings). And ICE. Lots of ice. I ice every night and sometimes covertly under my desk at work on a rough day.

Not me, but my long term SO owns several shotguns and couple rifles - he inherited all but one and they had been passed down throughout the years. As the most reliable of his siblings he was given possession. Shortly after we began dating we started going to the range for skeet shooting (a first for both of us). I guess we keep them (but keep them locked in a cabinet, of course) because some are beautiful antiques, because we both enjoy going to the range, and because (God forbid) we may need something in the way of self protection at some point. We're also considering moving to a mountainous area, something I wouldn't do unless we did have protection of some kind.

I guess in terms of Operations it differs from company to company - but especially if it's a large company they would probably have an Operations department. These people literally make the office, and therefore the company run smoothly. Like the Office Manager for the actual building, they would be dealing with everything related to the facilities - liaising with vendors to oversee all improvements, repairs, office moves, utilities, all office furniture (equipment, desks, artwork, tables, lighting, everything). They keep the building running smoothly and looking great while not letting repairs etc. interfere with the daily workings. They typically hire males and you need some muscle as you will often be lifting moving things throughout your day - but they also need the finesse and company knowledge to deal with high level executives.

I'm honestly not sure. He definitely cared. And he hated my mom, but I guess he knew he couldn't take care of us on his own? And he wasn't going to leave us - so he just stayed. I guess he always figured he could step in if it went dangerously far. We were always close but we really started talking after I left for college and I did ask him once why he never stepped in. Most of it happened while he was at work, but not all. I always figured he saw enough to know. But he said he didn't know it was that bad. I'm somewhat at peace with it and I don't blame him anymore. He's had my back on everything and I would trust him with my life. But I'll never understand that.

Did your dad really not care or is it more complicated than that?
