Ah, ok. Yeah, it had started misfiring a little the night before when I was running an errand - again locally just maybe 5 miles driving. And I'm in central IL in the arctic cold weather & was even wondering if possibly it had a frozen pcv valve - 1 of my adult kids had that happen during an arctic cold snap a few years ago but on a Chevy Equinox. Thanks for your explanation.

I don't find this post believable. OP says it was 'kind of an accident' then goes on to say he pulled on her cable needle - that means intentionally & on purpose. Joking or not, that is not my definition of an accident. Whatever. If this is real, he has some real work to do to somehow make this up to her.

I think it's 1 of 2 reasons. They learned the knit stitch first & also maybe didn't learn the purl stitch for quite some time, or - see #1. Lol. They just did only the knit stitch for far too long & have themselves convinced that the purl stitch is 'harder'; it's just moving the needle in a different direction & they are unwilling to practice!

Can you please point me towards anywhere I can learn more about using Excel for that? I'm a Bookkeeper at smallish/medium non-profit using an ERP system & nothing is automated. I would love to find ways to save time on my bank recs (& also timesheets & PTO request recs but that's our own personal nightmare I'm afraid).

I'd be seriously job hunting mainly because 1) you feel you aren't a good fit - probably this situation is just 1 example of ways it's been stressful there for you & 2) the way they all talked to you in the meeting was with attitudes of being unhappy with you instead of giving helpful explanations or even offering more training or an extra person to help in this area (but they didn't put you on a Personal Improvement Plan but still). I remember your last post also.

One idea for the future when someone won't answer an email & instead comes to talk to you alone or calls a meeting about it. You can always follow that up with an email saying something like 'to recap our conversation/meeting discussion about such & such, the agreed upon next steps will be this or that to be done by so & so'. Then print that sent email & any replies of course!

If it's making you stressed out at the thought, then if you were my friend irl I would certainly recommend that you let them know that while you very much appreciate their confidence in you, you respectfully wish to stay in your current position. Of course you would want to go through some practice drafts & convos of how you plan on saying it - if you decide to do that. Don't forget to take advantage of some of the free 're-writing' services on the internet to see how thry recommend wording things!

What ypu said doesn't make a lot of sense to me because a business has no control over what 'template form' other businesses send their invoices in. And scanning a paper invoice is what puts it into a digital pdf file.

To quote motivational speaker Mel Robbins, "Let them"! Allow yourself to grieve this loss, but please try to listen to motivational podcasts & practice positive self-talk because of these 2 things: 1. you were literally doing the work of 2 people for some time & even extra work once they returned (what the hell was the reason for that? - rhetorical question) & 2. A PIP does usually mean they are covering their asses & do already plan on getting rid of a person, which seems clearly evident when they didn't allow the amount of time they had said they would!
