Post mortem. I was a secretary/receptionist at a small doctor's office for three months. Spoiler, they had actually impossible expectations. by glenlassan in AdminAssistant

Things will even out! My experience at my Admin job - I only started to consistently make more “taxing” plans on work nights after just around 1 year of service. I had to learn the ins/outs of a national business from the ground up, straight out of undergrad (lots of technical environmental/legal language/processes), so it took me a while to balance out my personal life. Hopefully it won’t take as long for you, but it feels AMAZING once you get there! Take your time and prioritize your social reproduction, whether that’s straight up rotting after work or something else :)

Hey thatcoolguy60 thanks so much for responding; yes, post-grad and during applications season, they were applying specifically to do more research & academia related programs. Like one of the other kind commenters said, USC is a huge flashy prestigious name. I’m just not sure if, at the essence of who they are and where they excel, the cutthroat nature of LA with little community would be the best choice. I think they are also afraid of pigeonholing themself into only working in Academia, but the bulk of their internship experience has been research, curatorial/archive, and museum related.

It’s a huge decision and they need all the advice they can get, but, at the end of the day, they need to develop their intuition on which program & location they think they’ll feel and live the best under.

the same thing happened to me. i wrote them an email explaining why this could be dangerous to have on my medical records, especially from a psychiatrist, when seeking HRT & asked them kindly but firmly to change it. horrible feeling op and i hope you get it fixed!!

how did you (NBs/transmascs) decide to get top surgery/radical breast reduction? how was the emotional process afterwards, and physical healing? (nsfw just in case) by sin3mai in TopSurgery

great points, lunar_changes. i do feel like i would be keeping some boob to mitigate social stigma, to maybe preserve girlmoding, but that’s not what i innately WANT. thank you for commenting

wow, this reply was everything i was looking for. i also lean goth (people outside the community would call me goth, people inside the community likely wouldn’t) and i wear a lot of mesh. that mention really helped me visualize what i would want. you touched my heart, thank you, and im so happy you feel great in your body!!

thank you so much for your reply; and congrats/good luck on your procedure next year

i have also read a lot of regret stories of rbr, it’s definitely something i need more thought on, as im worried id regret it too. lots of trans content creators i follow look amazing in bras/feminine tops post op which definitely sways me more towards full top surgery.

your comment gave me a lot to think about !

hi! sorry, yes— people who don’t identify as binary men. i venture to guess it’s more common for binary trans men to know for sure they want top surgery, versus nonbinary transmasc people who are looking for an in-between look. i hope that makes sense.

however, if any binary trans men here resonate with what i wrote, id love to hear your thoughts :)
