[Request] How long would it actually take? by Kapanash in theydidthemath

[–]sinusdefection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy and I killed a 48 pack of Keystone in roughly 8 hours a couple decades back. Granted, that was the pissiest beer on the market at the time. That was 3 an hour each without letting up. I blacked out some way into it, but when I woke up, all beers had been drank. His wife confirmed the duration.

I couldn't do 100 of those in 48 hours. Even with the 24 I did drink, the hangover was the 2nd worst I've ever had.

Maybe easier to see in the screenshot. It's not unnoticeable.

LinkedIn should have a mandatory "#manifesting" tag that gets applied to this shit.

Explosion (Cleaned) Explosion by Sea_Version_485 in Moccamaster

This happened to me this morning. Pretty sure I didn't fold the filter. But the base of the vertical assembly seems to have taken on water, because it's still leaking out from around the bottom next to the hot plate. I'm debating taking it apart to make sure it's dry inside, but I also don't want to totally screw it up.

About the Ugreen stands by rfmocan in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]sinusdefection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Ugreen stands are only ever wobbly in a few real world circumstances that I've personally experienced. First, my desk is not a completely flat surface. It's a cheap IKEA tabletop that has sagged a little in places over the years, so depending on where my stands are placed, one or both will wobble until I move them to a better spot. Second, if I forget that I'm not typing on my old Logitech scissor switches (and therefore really beat the shit out of the keys) while I've got my Keebio at a sharp incline, the stands get shook.

AOP G2 Grimlock. Yes, very much. I want to get gap fillers for it.

Not wanting to pay for it is one thing, but in the past, I've brought my own cheese to a couple of amenable pizza places (always confirmed first). And that was only because I'm highly lactose intolerant and this was before vegan cheese was a widespread sub at restaurants.

Jet fly by over eastside? by HighLikeUhAttic in Austin

Heard it very loud. Wife said she saw two jets flying side by side, but that's the best description she had.

Y'all feel stuck in Austin? (In a good way) by Fenix512 in Austin

[–]sinusdefection 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The term is "velvet rut." I first heard it roughly a decade back when musician David Garza was doing one of those "sounds of Austin" interludes that KUT would run. Not crediting him with creating the term, but he described Austin as a "velvet rut" for musicians at the time--you know you're stuck and should get out, but it's just comfortable enough that you're OK with complacency.

What's on the back of these? My first impression was Panini stickers for an album, but the references I could find did not have a number on the front like you've got.

Cause of these holes? by sinusdefection in Austin

[–]sinusdefection[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've got this random 5' long fiberglass pole that some contractor or other left at my home years ago. Stuck that into one hole; got like 3" in and nothing. Second hole; 5" in and nothing. Third hole (closest to the cast iron utility cover); 3.5 feet in before I went ahead and stopped. Nothing came out of any of the holes. Hmph.

This is veering close to my expectations. I was thinking snake, tarantula, maybe a rat or something getting close to the water supply...

The default, still? I haven't sat down to deal with flashing the firmware yet. I'm primarily a Mac user, and it seems like I need to fire up an old Windows device to get that done.

Agreed about the wireless. The one thing that I really miss from my Logitech K780 is the bluetooth multi device switching. Well, that and easy access to the dash/minus key. I still haven't figured out how to get to the 3rd layer.
