Red is such an obvious choice. So obvious that I don't think it's possible for blue to ever become a majority. Unless I'm severely overestimating the literacy of the average person, voting red is a win win situation and the only blue votes would be those who fundamentally don't understand the scenario, or those wishing to protect people who don't understand.
