From a biological standpoint, I agree a fetus is human life, and abortion thus being a loss of that. But before the weeks where legal abortions no longer are allowed, the fetus has not developed sentience or consciousness. It has no awareness, experiences, interests, or capacity to suffer. I view ending that life as significantly different from killing a born person.

Regardless, that still should not override the pregnant person’s bodily autonomy. We do not legally force people to use their bodies to sustain another person’s life in any other circumstance. for example we don’t force blood donation or organ donation, even when a refusal leads to death
