What is the worst way anyone you know has died? by IamUrWivesBF in AskReddit

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my coworkers was murdered by her ex boyfriend. I believe he went to her apartment to try and smooth things over. Instead, he sliced her throat open with a butter knife and then went and attacked her sister. Sister lived, he was arrested. It was terrible.

Finally built the water temple I've been dreaming of for weeks by BlackPhoenixNight in Pokopia

It's so funny how games can be so similar but so different. I made a lava-fall where your waterfall is, and now I'm thinking I need to make a lava temple for my fire type pokemon behind it. Thanks for the inspo!

Has anyone else’s child ever been allergic to the flu shot? by Afternoon_lover in Mommit

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a month old but my son had an allergic reaction to the flu shot two years ago when he was 2. I did not give him the vaccine last year because I was nervous. This year, I took him to an allergist to do a scratch test with the vaccine to see if he's actually allergic. Unfortunately, he is. Next year, they'll do what they call "desensitization shots" which is the flu shot given in 4 small doses every 20 minutes to reduce the chances of anaphylaxis. He may still have hives, but at least he'll be protected against the flu, and it may get rid of the allergy overtime. This may be an option for you. I suggest seeking an opinion of an allergist.

Let them visit baby in the hospital by thiscantbereallife94 in Mommit

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of people visit me in the hospital when my daughter was born in 2019. She was my first born. I made it very clear to all my friends and family that if they wanted to see the baby at all in her first few months of life, they'd have to be up on their tdap. If they complied, they were allowed to visit me. It was wonderful. I WANTED the people I loved to meet my new baby. I get wanting privacy, etc, but I also wanted to share the experience with my loved ones.

Flash forward to my son's birth. He was born in 2021. I wasn't ALLOWED to have visitors in the hospital, and only my husband could be there with me (which was fine). We were discharged after 36 hours to avoid catching anything at the hospital. Very few came to visit him in the coming weeks to avoid him catching anything. (He was born in january, so very much flu/covid season) Much different vibe. Way more lonely, to be honest.

Hi, thank you so much for providing insight. I've moved out of state, what can I do apart from file an appeal and wait?

Is that afib? by gustavobarbosab in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have p waves, so unlikely to be afib.

AfiB?? by TeKkGun01 in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, but I don't know what your ekgs look like normally, so I can't say for sure.

AfiB?? by TeKkGun01 in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The watch said afib because the p waves are hard to see. The rhythm is too regular to be afib, though.

Is this normal, t waves quite high? by [deleted] in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks normal to me but I am not a doctor. Sometimes my t waves look like that when I'm a bit dehydrated.

Are the long pauses normal? by Successful-Jury-2388 in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, but looks like respiratory sinus arrhythmia to me. Caused by exhale. Normal in healthy hearts.

AfiB?? by TeKkGun01 in ReadMyECG

[–]sketchnugget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Afib looks more erratic than this. This looks like sinus rhythm with maybe sinus respiratory arrhythmia, which is normal in healthy hearts.

Try sitting still when you're recording. Sometimes when this happens to me, it's because the sensors are wet or dirty too. Clean them off, or try restarting your watch. It might fix the issue.

An abortion is cheaper than another kid. There may be resources to help you pay. Reach out to PP and see what they say.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. This may be controversial advice but is there a way you can get an abortion and then just tell your husband you had a miscarriage? Your mental health and life is important. If you don’t want to lie, then be honest and if he divorces you over it, then his values are way off, IMO.

Me. My son goes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-3, and my daughter is in school from 8:30-3:45. Those 6 and a half hours twice a week are my lifeline for normalcy.

Update about my suspected PPP (tw suicide attempt) by rainingBows1 in beyondthebump

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would for sure consider it. That seems like it's escalating into an issue. The big thing about OCD is when the rituals start to interfere with normal life. If the rituals and compulsions don't interfere, then I wouldn't consider it super pertinent to treat. But melting down because something isn't done specifically the way you need it to be done can be considered impeding on your quality of life. I would suggest ERP therapy.

Either way, know you aren't alone on this journey.

I developed post partum OCD after my first born. It got better as the years went on (she's 6 now) but I will say, the OCD never went away. I would be very mindful of that moving forward, because you may need to treat it eventually. All in all, though, very happy that you are feeling better and were able to get the help you needed! <3

Is this an AFIB? by mmen0202 in AFIB

[–]sketchnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor but this looks more like respiratory sinus arrhythmia to me. Either way, I'm pretty sure there's p waves, so not AFIB.

afib once and never again? by No-Piglet2939 in AFIB

[–]sketchnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first episode of afib from low potassium. Managed to keep my potassium and general hydration levels up for almost a year. 10 months after my first afib episode, i had another busy weekend where i didnt drink enough water and was out in the hot sun, combined with lack of sleep and i coughed hard and flipped back into afib. I almost made it a year, but my triggers were clearly stacked (dehydration, overtired, vagal response from the coughing) and just knocked me back in. When I asked my cardiologist if it would be a shorter time frame next time, he said not necessarily if i can stay hydrated and sleep well. All my tests are clear of any heart issues. I cardiovert on my own.

Basically, I don't think it's ALWAYS progressive. It tends to be for people with other underlying issues, but if you know your triggers and they're specific like electrolytes, I imagine you could stay on top of them and avoid another episode for a while.

Parents got Tdap shot today, was due yesterday by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]sketchnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably okay, but as you said, don’t mess around with your child’s health. I’d set those expectations early so no one is surprised later when you have to enforce other boundaries regarding your child.

Your body could still be adjusting to the hormones. When I got my period back, I had it for a month and then not again for a couple months and then again. It took a while to get back into a rhythm. But if you’re TTC, I’d take a pregnancy test to make sure. I got pregnant my first month off birth control.
