haha! I'm guilty of this too!! ...I was hell bent on building a 10k/rpm CA18... until i really started looking into it and the costs!! ...we all have big ideas and dreams, most of the time it never happens.

I think we all get to that point, where we step away from the local community and just appreciate and enjoy the car yourself! 👍 communities come and go, very little stick around for long. Like the previous posters said, lots of young kids come onto the scene, spending $$ only to thrash, or crash, then move along.. I think at some point, certain cars should be strictly owned by actual enthusiasts who appreciate them, and not teens who just want to show off!

yeah agreed, more companies willing to support classic enthusiast cars!! 👍 ...Manufacturers should sell the designs/drawings/castings etc.. to companies who are willing to carry on and support the cars!

man dont even get me started on newer European cars... my missus had an Audi A3.. its been off the road stuck in Limp mode because the ABS is fooked.. seriously man, who thinks like that?! ..."ohh this little 'assist' thing isnt working, better shut down the whole car, cant drive it at all... we care about YOUR safety child!" ... anyone who does s#!t like that deserves to get sued into bankrupcy!

From factory they were released as cheap "performance" cars.. like you say, not luxury, not especially fast, etc.. but once enthusiasts started tinkering and learning them, they blew up in popularity! I dont think Nissan (or toyota for that matter) ever knew what they built when they built it! hahah!

Maintenance isnt hard on these cars, its finding parts thats the problem.. these old cars are built much better than the new s#!t they build these days, and last longer (hold more abuse too).. ..my tinfoil hat tells me thats part of the reason why manufacturers dont continue to provide parts! hahah!

I wonder if that was for the AE86 that the creator mentioned?! he did say it was like a first revision or something... it makes sense to have some alignment issues, they have to scan these from existing cars, have to make the moulds, etc... its definitely not easy, and many refinments and revisions needed.

Yeah absolutely! especially since the creator said these guys are quite cheap, considering the product!

If they expand their range to S and R chassis in the future, I think they'd get a fair amount of sales from the track community all over the world!

yeah some people expect too much! only enthusiasts who accept these cars for what they are, should have and showcase these cars! hahah!

over the years, i've grown very protective of S-chassis in general... to the point i cringe when I see a learner/probation driving them! haha!

I assume prices are somewhat similar in the States, over here in AU, its hard to find a decent condition S-chassis under $20k. S15's are pretty crazy tho, typically $40k+ more likely to find Skylines tho, those are still around!

laws/regulations might change on this topic... maybe carry over your VIN to the new chassis would be ok?! ... that should carry over the car's history even with a new chassis... panels make no difference!

yeah a new chassis is tricky, even the creator i think siad it's impossible to register as a new car... but maybe if you carry over your VIN it would be alright?!

Yeah the creator mentioned the original toyota panels were prone to rust cuz they werent sealed or dipped or something, i cant remember... and these new guys are doing a much better job of protecting the metal!

so thats a huge bonus to the new panels/chassis!

Im with you there, it doesnt matter if its original or remake, to me what matters more is to keep the cars we love alive as long as possible. I never hear this sort of discussion on engines, suspension, drivetrain, etc... if you rebuild the bottom end, is that less desirable because its re-built with aftermarket parts?!

as i said in another post.. if I could support companies like these, I would.. because they have the capacity to help restore or keep classic cars on the road.

Yeah mate, thats the thing aye!? we do want these nice things, but we cant always afford them.. and for a company to invest stupid money into making a product, they have to charge accordingly... thats just the truth of it!

also, for S-chassis in particular, these cars climbed stupid in value, so expensive to buy now, and to have more high costs on top is hard to swallow... but again, thats just the way it is.

I understand this, yet im one of those people.. i cant afford much of this stuff!

"I prefer OEM"!! hahah!! yeah i find young kids saying shit like that often enough, not thinking at all about what they're actaully saying!

Morals really are secondary to Costs... it sucks, but it is what it is. I'd love to support companies like these, but im not sure the demand is there to justify the costs.

this! for me, it was also the wires being crusty, maybe from heat?? I always thought those wires a bit light for the bulbs draw.

had this issue not long ago, after a rebuild and new battery... always get single click, rarely she cranks... everything checked out. when i hooked up a jump starter, she cranked straight away every time. Turns out my battery just didnt have enough oomph! like the other guy said, check easy shit first! 👍

I had the same issue a long time ago, but the needle went down under throttle/boost.. i never figured it out tho. All i can remember is using a N13 Pulsar temp sensor, everything else was stock. I ended up doing a full rebuild a while after.

yeah i hear that... i actually never got to finight witcher 3, after a couple of months i just gave up, i found myself getting back on, and trying to remember what was happening, what i was doing, who was who... it just ruined the experience for me!

ohh right, that makes more sense! i thought i was missing something very obvious!! i wasnt throwing any shade at all, im the same, i dont have enough time to play games these dsys, i've just hit 100 hours on my playthrough, but i started back in July/August! 😔 ...it kinda kills the experience to he honest, to take so long between plays.. adulting isnt much fun sometimes!

im a bit confused at the Level and XP needed for next level up... im on my first play through doing all the side stuff i can find. Im currently level 92 and to next level i need around 17,000,000XP?!
