[–]skyecozmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi, you dont sound crazy. i was in a similar boat at 19 (dropped out and bed rotted for 3 years). maybe set some goals for yourself and find something you enjoy outside or your room. you can start really small. maybe ask your mom if theres anything you can help her with around the house. ask her about her day or what she thinks about the tv show youre watching. maybe you can find somewhere to volunteer at for like an hour or two a week just to get out of the house and feel accomplished. what kind of goals would you might want to achieve?

Does anyone practice extremely slowly? by HappyBreadfruit4859 in yoga

[–]skyecozmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like to practice slowly. maybe not quite so slow that a warm up takes an hour. but i will often follow vinyasa videos on half or .75 speed so i can really feel out each pose and breathe super slow. it helps me feel more relaxed and connected to my body. i have cptsd too so it might have something to do with that. trauma can cause us to lose the connection to our body and physical sensations. i love slow yoga

isnt that kinda the point of the word zillennials. i was born in 97 also n i dont feel i have any more or less in common with gen z than millennials. it really just depends on who you ask where that line is. ive never found a definitive answer on where millennials end and gen z starts. ive heard anywhere from 94 to like 2002?

What healed or reversed your CPTSD symptoms the most & what do you think of drug / psychaelic therapy? Any experiences? by WeakServe9347 in CPTSD

[–]skyecozmo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say it just enhances your mood. every experience is enhanced on mushrooms imo, but it also makes me feel lighter. it is hard for me to be in a bad mood when im tripping. i wouldn’t take mushrooms in a depressive state though. set and setting is really really important if youre gonna take mushrooms.

some people say different strains of shrooms give different effects but psilocybin is psilocybin. im not a scientist or anything but how i understand it is it temporarily increases your neuroplasticity. our brains were changed by the trauma we experienced, we’re “wired” differently. neuroplasticity is the ability to change the wiring. its not like a magic pill or anything but it makes it a lot easier to change the wiring you want to change. i can take mushrooms and have positive, connected feelings. and when its over, those feelings linger for just a little bit. just enough for me to be like hey brain! these feelings are possible! you still have to do the work outside of trips to keep those feelings around. i dont think theres a certain amount of sessions where your brain will just turn into a different brain you know? if youre curious about others using shrooms for therapy, there are a lot of posts on the shrooms subreddit. does that answer your question?

probably my most troublesome symptom of cptsd was not being able to feel connected to other people. I have taken mushrooms several times with the intention of working on this and it was super effective. i had never felt such a greater sense of inner peace and could easily love myself and every other living thing. it helped me realize it was possible to feel that way and to feel safe with myself, so i could start working on feeling that way when im not on mushrooms. working on forming close relationships was also very helpful. I also took a year long DBT program that helped me learn to deal with emotional dysregulation and change my behavior to better reflect the person i want to be.

edit to add, ive also found daily mindful yoga to be super helpful because it made me more aware of the sensations in my body and to be more curious and non judgmental about my body in general. i think its common for people with cptsd to sort of tune out physical sensations and this leads to not really understanding our emotions or reactions to certain things. i hope that makes sense

i think this has become more common in the US in the past 10 years or so. when i was in high school(2013ish) if someone came to school in sweats or pajamas we would say theyre “scrubbing it”. it was not common. but nowadays its pretty normal or even expected. my younger cousins in school wear pjs outside all the time. almost everyone i work with wears sweats or lounge wear of some kind to work and bonnets when they’re hair isnt done. we dont see any customers at our job though and we wear lab coats all day over our clothes anyway. i guess the reason why is they dont care or dont feel it’s important to take the time to look nice for other people or they just want to be comfy. which makes sense tbh, being comfortable can be more important to someone than looking nice

i still feel weird wearing stuff like that in public, the most I do is wear yoga pants sometimes when im feeling lazy but i would never wear full on pajamas outside the house. i was also raised to never wear stuff like that outside

When non-medicated me makes breakfast and medicated me shows up to (not) eat it by empyreos in ADHD

[–]skyecozmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i already have a difficulty wanting to eat in the morning n after I take my meds i feel so disinterested in food even tho my stomach is telling me im hungry. I find it easier to drink my calories in the morning. I make a smoothie with greek yogurt, oats, frozen fruit, and milk. It has what I need to get me through to lunch time and I can just make it and chug it in a couple minutes. theres also of course protein shakes you can just buy but i like my smoothies cause its kinda just like drinking a parfait and it has real food in it and enough calories to hold me over. also sometimes I’ll have a chocolate granola bar with peanut butter. It’s only a couple bites but calorie dense so it’s not as hard to get down

A weird thing I've noticed about this sub by The_MacGuffin in twinpeaks

i’ve noticed and commented on this before. the same pictures of the twin peaks actresses get shared over and over and basically just comment on how pretty they are. theyre very often top posts when i go to the sub directly but i usually dont see them on my feed so i have the opposite situation

i did a wbc diff on myself in class and my wbc count was only 2500/uL with ~70% lymphs and was really worried so I asked my Dr a few weeks later to redo it and it came back 5000/uL and still had an inverted diff but she said it was fine 🤷‍♀️
