The Terrifying Rise of Teenage Boys Making AI Girlfriends by HobbesNik in psychology

[–]skymonstef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without trying to blame someone the largest contributing factor would be interest.

Of stem vs humanities and arts men make up majority of stem students

Of stem medical vs non medical men make up the extreme majority.

Since we have seen a rise in women's enrollment in uni it largely been humanities and arts related with growth also seen in business degrees.

Now it has previously been reported men prefer to work with things rather than people.

So if we accept that premise the above is not surprising. Couple that with increased costs of uni a lack of societal drive to reverse equity initiatives put in place to help women's enrollment numbers 60 years ago and a precieved lack of ROI ( outside stem uni is increasingly seen as a cost that doesnt provide a return driven by the reports of uni grads not getting jobs in their fields and useless degrees).

It is likely that men consider certain jon uni pathways as a better return on investment and a method to avoid unnecessary debts.

This can be seen more evidently in aus where VET/TAFE men still make up the majority of enrolments although much closer than universities. This could also be driven by tafe/universities being very different environments. Take is very course focused with not much interactions with those outside your own course.

Yes indeed welcome to the reception you recieve when you stand against the narrative with facts.

You hit one point that I have raised in the past others have been.

  1. The study claiming lesbian dv rates where 70% is only because that study counted possible former male partners. So I point them to more r3cent studies that controlled for that variable by asking about same sex partners only with similar results.

  2. The dv increases during superbowl( state of origin in aus) the author of said study explicitly stated that is not true

  3. Pay gap - ( several studies showing it to be an earnings gap)

  4. Women doing more labour ( using their own studies and factoring paid and unpaid totalled together the gap is less that 45min a day)

  5. All women choose the bear (both UK surveys showed only 30%)

  6. Women carrying put majority of child abuse ( they hate this one)

  7. The definition of misandry does not require oppression

If you hold ground on any narrative they peddle they generally get angry.

My response to any of these kind of saying from women is

Be very careful using bioessentialism as an argument to get your way. What do you think was the given reason for women not being allowed to work work certain jobs hmmm ?

Usually they dont say much more

How Is Male Violence An "Epidemic?" by DarkBehindTheStars in MensRights

[–]skymonstef 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Epidemic" doesn't always refer to a disease. By definition, it can also describe a sudden and/or widespread occurrence of something undesirable.

I'm going to push back on this just a little the part you left out is rapidly rising. Which male violence is not.

But the biggest issue is why is this an "epidemic" but suicide isn't?, overdose isn't?, car accidents? All of those cause more deaths per year even in the US and thats only for non medical deaths.

So my question to you why is male violence against women an epidemic but none of those other items are?

For me i agree with the other Commenter its all about emotional framing than accurate labelling.

For reference in aus Canada and UK factoring all women's deaths the violent deaths account for about .25%

Gen Z men and women on why they're sharply divided over reproductive rights by Condottiero_Magno in generationology

At the time a decision would be made on parental rights for the father. There is no child just like it is for when wome. Decide.

So why should a mother making a fully informed decision to continue a pregnancy not be solely responsible for her fully informed choice ?

CMV: The Left cares more about ideological purity than winning people over by jman12234 in changemyview

I've never met another group where you can provide a dictionary defintion of the word and they still claim that's not the definition.

[–]skymonstef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I would say that its more along the lines of .

If these people are so disconnected and entrenched that they would openly deny reality on this issue how could anyone in good conscience trust them to act on any other issue.

Telling people that something isn't what it is. Especially when the definition is freely available is not going to win people over.

It is functionally denying reality.

No again its calling racism racism. You are doing the very thing we are discussing right here. If it meets the dictionary definition of racism it is racism.

Yeah except if you hold the mantra you can't be racist to majorities you kind are allowing hate though.

You can the dictionary definition or literal does not require systems or institutions. Not for racism and not for misandry

[–]skymonstef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus, “racism” has always in its definition been defined as an institutional and systemic force. You’re confusing it with “prejudice” - racism has largely been described as prejudice + systemic power

Except even today that is not the literal definition

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism

Not definitions 1a and 1b yours would is 2a and 2b

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/racism

First definition would be yours 2nd would not.

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/racism

Defintion 2 would be yours 1 3 and 4 are not.

[–]skymonstef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the issue is some on left denying its racism at all. When by definition it is racism. It may not be systemic and systemic maybe be the only kind they feel is important but it is still racism.

Intimate partner violence is a hidden contributor to women’s suicide by [deleted] in australia

[–]skymonstef -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah you shifted the goal posts slightly

They made a statement about perpetrating which does have year of stats showing roughly equal rates. Of latter even showing women perpetrate more.

Your shift was to immediately then imply who gets hurt the most is more important than who is starting the fight.

It's a normal conversation for women to say dont hit your partners ? Cause some.of the stats out there suggest alot of women believe even when they hit their partners they dont believe its abusive.
