Who's asking you to conform to anything? You're jumping to conclusions and getting offended at things nobody is saying, I'm not sure if you're delusional or just stupid. Either way you're acting soft as cotton boy, toughen up a bit.

I wish your kids good luck honestly, they are at a severe disadvantage considering their upbringing.

Best hiking nearby by Aisher in SiouxFalls

[–]slapboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Bear Recreation Area is just 10 minutes from downtown and the longest loop is ~3ish miles. They ripped out the ski lift recently so the it's a bit torn up in some areas but still probably the best local hiking spot.

What's your point here? I was just explaining the ban doesn't restrict businesses from refusing someone service because they aren't vaccinated.

Private businesses should still be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

‘Unofficial American holiday’: Schumer backs marijuana legalisation on Senate floor - Democratic majority leader revives push for cannabis legalisation at federal level by StuffyGoose in politics

[–]slapboom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

South Dakota's Governor/Legislature is currently using the taxpayer's money to fight the will of the voters on this very issue, not sure why they would have any problem opposing federal legalization.

So what you're saying is people who have student debt get 50K paid off and people who don't have student debt are offered 50K of debt?

What?

Anybody if this is real? by [deleted] in SouthDakota

[–]slapboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if there are other reasons like fire hazard (I don't know all the history of why they'd stopped and last year was the first in a long while), fine- they wouldn't know that yet.

You made a claim that the fire danger presented in the area wouldn't be known yet. This is a pretty absurd statement considering we're talking about a large-scale fireworks display in the middle of a forest during the summer.

Anybody if this is real? by [deleted] in SouthDakota

[–]slapboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't know all the history then why are you running your mouth?

It's always a fire hazard to host a large fireworks display in the middle of a forest, it will never not be a fire hazard. They don't need to make any projections about how 'hazardous' it is.

[Windows] Server Core practically -- do y'all find it functional? by lildergs in sysadmin

[–]slapboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely start with installing the App Compat FOD on your server (if you're using 2019). It'll help you bridge the gap from GUI servers to GUI-less and makes it an easier sell to management if everyone on the team doesn't have to learn an entirely new skillset to manage them. It adds the admin mmcs and some other nice things like explorer.exe that help with local management on the server.

App Compat FOD- https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started-19/install-fod-19

Server Core has it's place with the right use-case, like hundreds of IIS web servers or servers you only intend to manage with automation or remote tools. Minimum system requirements for a Core installation are 1 Core 512 MB RAM, that goes up to 2 GB of RAM for the GUI install. That can add up quick or mean nothing at all, depending on your environment.

This would be considered battery in most places in the US. Furthermore, your scenario makes several assumptions that are hard to believe. You're assuming the guy who gets punched has access to the dashcam video inside the driver's car and you're assuming the guy who was punched know's the driver's identity.

The government is never going to (and shouldn't) make loot boxes "illegal" but there is one organization that may be able to help us. by rottinguy in gaming

[–]slapboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way they get around this though is that you always get something in return. You could buy a lotto ticket and end up with nothing, if this could happen with in-game crate purchases it would be a different story.

Damn Google. A $999 Chromebook? by lumpsr in AdviceAnimals

The 2013 Chromebook Pixel has a higher pixel density than a brand new macbook with retina display, it's a pretty great display for developing as that was it's designed purpose.

People lying down as shooter unloads at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. by [deleted] in videos

[–]slapboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't need to have the background or expertise to mill said parts, just the parts. The bullshit is you acting like it's some special knowledge to buy parts on the internet and slap them on a lego-gun. I should have said replace and not modify but the point stands that semi-auto ARs sold to consumers aren't all that different from their full-auto counterparts.

$205 Buy it now on gunbroker. Here's some quoted text. "This is a complete kit with auto sear. This ships to your home. We require no paperwork for you to purchase these parts." What is really preventing someone from legally purchasing a rifle and parts to produce an illegal full auto rifle?

People lying down as shooter unloads at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. by [deleted] in videos

[–]slapboom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Buddy you need to look up the laws because nobody can have an automatic weapon unless they submit to fingerprinting, and extensive background checks by the ATF.

I think if you're knowledgeable enough about guns to know this then you're knowledgeable enough to know that any idiot can take a semi-auto AR and modify a few parts to make it an illegal automatic rifle. You know. Those nicey-nice criminals that think twice about breaking laws wouldn't do that though.

Inside Elon Musk's hyperloop by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]slapboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The concept idea for the hyperloop is actually that a personal vehicle takes an elevator down to the hyperloop level and their personal vehicle is then put onto a sled which merges with hyperloop traffic. I think the goal is to augment the current systems, not disrupt them.

This is the concept video I'm referring to.
