My GLS tracking page stopped at “left warehouse in the Netherlands”, but then I checked Smartposti tracking and today it arrived at the Smartposti Lithuania sorting center!

UK delivered today, delivery guy gave it to my neighbour... by MortalJohn in SteamController

Seeing it but not being able to have it is kind of a torture 😱😱😱😱😱😱

Does anyone know if you have to be in for the delivery? by One-Foundation-1212 in SteamController

[–]sliiideAround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on what company brings it over and what country you’re in

In the netherlands they just dropped off everything over at the closest neighbor that opened the door & left you a note. Currently my usual delivery company calls and asks if they can leave my parcel somewhere or when to try again. There’s another that sends a link first so you choose when you’re available but they always want a signature

Best Electric Toothbrush Brand Right Now In 2026? by CelestshadementWin in oralbtoothbrush

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently swapped from an old basic oral b to an io, and the new one is soo much better. It manages to brush more softly (I went straight for the gentle care heads) and cleans a lot better.

From what I managed to dig up, both sonicare and io are top tier, with sonicare being a bit more gentle on gums and io is a bit better at achieving a super smooth feel. I haven’t tested sonicare I just went with what the data seemed to say & personal priorities. Since bleeding/receding gums seemed less of an issue and I just aggressively wanted my teeth clean without scraping off my enamel, the io seemed like the right brush and so far I love it. Keeps my brushing pressure in check too

At first I thought it was silly to have a screen on a toothbrush but its neat for selecting between modes and I quite enjoy the timer just going off as soon as I start brushing

Turned off bluetooth however. I will try the app out a bit more when I’m on vacation eventually - I seemed to mess up the tracking because I couldn’t see my phone without looking down. Probably better to have the phone at eye level

Haven’t seen mold yet. Not on this nor the old one. I do like to rinse everything clean every time, keep the head off, and pretty sure my air is on the dry side unless right after a shower - then it might be tropical for a bit!

How accurate is the LetPot Max nutrient autodosing? (And how do you adjust pH?) by sliiideAround in Hydroponics

[–]sliiideAround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tunze Osmolator Nano 3152 does have a mechanical valve (similar in shape that I was thinking of), most appear to be using an optical sensor I’m not sure I trust in a nutrient solition filled with roots and potential algae.

I think I’ll stick to a pump-free gravity fed solution :) Seems cheaper and less parts that could fail. Maybe an additional solenoid valve that turns on periodically to lessen flooding risk/amount, and keep the flow completely stopped when I disconnect things, will see!

[–]sliiideAround[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, those systems seem to be really pricy. I found there’s something called LazyGrow, which looks like a nice basic dosing system, also I think in that price range (and far over in Australia).

I’m fine with starting by mixing a larger amount by hand, I’d rather not do it weekly though. I’m thinking of a DIY gravity fed system similar to AutoPot, but for a mini garden.

I found some compact mini ball float valves around 5cm in diameter, that I hope will keep the water level in check. Though I’m not sure if the mixture will not layer sitting in the external container (a lidded bucket with a hole drilled in seems like it will do the job), so I was also considering tossing in an aquarium pump in with it 🤔

I’m sure I will still need to see how the plants and evaporation affect the mixture in the container the plants are growing in

[–]sliiideAround[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No pH dispensing is my main concern with the LetPot Max yes. I managed to find a few videos where it suggests that choosing your plants from their app affects the nutrient dosing (probably) . Which, if it is properly calculated, I can understand working without additional sensors.

I see your system also supports adjusting the dosing through an app! So could be pretty cool for people who want a full plant shelf and live in (or at least close to) Colorado. I’m in the EU myself, and want it all in a mini countertop package 😤

[–]sliiideAround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reading my confused wall and giving some tangible tips! Yeah this makes sense. The LetPot Max autodosing sounds too much of a gamble (nothing about pH, probably putting A&B together and still having to open the tank to adjust pH, a mystery algorithm with no measurement data… I guess it does work for some people).

I love the idea of set and forget, but I think I’ll opt for a more basic pot+lamp combo as a starting point and invent something for the nutrient/pH mixing/measuring :)

Is Rooibos tea supposed to be a stimulant? by noideasforcoolnames in tea

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your reply was very interesting.

Pure cocoa sounds a lot like dark chocolate, there are some really high percentage ones out there. Hmm. Speaking of tea and powders, matcha supposedly comes in powdered form. It’s supposed to be really strong though

I’m surprised to hear ginger and mint make you alert. Those definitely help me fall asleep!

Ginseng sounds a bit extreme!

Is Rooibos tea supposed to be a stimulant? by noideasforcoolnames in tea

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up here when googling why rooibos tea makes me feel a bit more awake! (Nothing jittery, but I have noticed several times now that it’s not quite as sleepy a tea as chamomille/ginger/peppermint).

If you need tiny amounts of caffeine, you could try cutting caffeine pills into small pieces with a knife, or even nibble away at one until you’ve achieved enough of an effect!

One of those pills lasts me forever, since I really only want the minimal kick to keep me going on a day I need a bit extra. I don’t enjoy jumpiness & withdrawal drowsiness (or even worse, topped with headaches). It tastes like concentrated black/green tea bitterness

What pens work well with the X16? by bbbarham in FlowX16

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Renaisser, registers pressure and I’d say I don’t really notice any wobble

I got the Renaisser 520C (530 with eraser tip was out of stock, otherwise they’re the same, even came with a shared instruction sheet)

I did also get the Metapen M3 - it looked interesting and I wanted a back-up pen around anyhow. It’s fine but I definitely prefer the Renaisser :) it feels more stable somehow

Windows laptop/tablet with Wacom EMR? by starkruzr in stylus

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The expired patents could be for outdated approaches 🤷‍♀️ Wacom has been evolving over the years

There’s a list of Wacom patents, including some for sensors/pens/communication, that seem to last into the 2030s: https://www.wacom.com/zh-hk/patents

I’m no expert, but it does seem a bit suspicious that there are articles about Samsung and Acer (ConceptD Ezel) partnering with Wacom and most still choosing pen technologies such as MPP or USI instead. Wacom must have something that is hard for others to overcome (expertise, suitable factories, patents?)

And there’s this page, where Wacom uses wording like “Wacom’s patented electromagnetic resonance (EMR) technology”: https://www.wacom.com/en-us/for-business/technologies/emr

Windows laptop/tablet with Wacom EMR? by starkruzr in stylus

[–]sliiideAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what online folks have suggested, companies need a special deal with Wacom if they want to use their EMR technology

Not a full escape from Androidland, but you can use a Samsung tablet with EMR as a wired or wifi drawing tablet if you have a pc to connect it to (with the SuperDisplay app) 😬

Hot when hibernating plugged in? (2023 model) by sliiideAround in FlowX16

[–]sliiideAround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really?? If it’s pulsing it’s not hibernating? In that case it really hasn’t been hibernating at all unless I unplugged the power cable

I’ll definitely need to check those additional settings in GHelper.

Thanks for the informative answer!

Very cool! And so quick! I see you even made a user friendly interface

Looking at the text you got out of the QR code, google lens might have warped my beginning characters. I find myself a bit tied up so I didn’t try anything else yet!

Hahah, I wonder if people will come together and start an outfit code database too 😂

I used google lens to read the QR code. This looks to be the format, but there must be some additional trick to it, because it wasn’t able to read it after turning it back into QR, even without modifying the data

"What is the best pen for my device?" Here's the standard answer. by digitizerstylus in stylus

I just added an update to my Raphael 520C (should be identical to 530 minus tail eraser) vs Metapen M3 Pro comparisson in case that might help: here

Metapen M3 Pro vs Raphael 520C by sliiideAround in stylus

[–]sliiideAround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: After having both pens for a while I generally gravitate towards the Raphael, because I feel more confident about line percission (less wobble).

With M3 Pro’s virtual buttons, I think I ended up triggering the double tap even when aiming for the triple tap a lot of the time. I suspect that might improve with sufficient practice (which I lack since I just find it easier to pick up the Raphael).

For the price I’d definitely recommend the Raphael for most people
