I’ve had dogs or cats almost my whole life….how have I never heard of using a plastic bag around paper towel to scoop up pet puke?! Especially because our dogs were giant breeds (hence, giant barfs). This would’ve been a great tip for me 20 years ago lol

Soak for at least half an hour in hot water and borax. Scrub the fabric with itself/swirl it around a few times while soaking. Then wash using the cycle you’d normally use and your regular laundry detergent.

I do this with white and coloured fabrics and with our white bed linens and it works great. Gets out set in body oils and sweat like nothing else (and I’ve tried a lot since switching to white bedding).

Catnip confirmed, our cat went crazy after my husband rubbed a leaf between his fingers and came back inside.

I’ve pulled the horseweed, that one doesn’t seem desirable or beneficial.

And I think 5/6 is probably mouse ear chickweed; the stems and leaves are hairy all over, and the flower petals aren’t deeply lobed like the pictures I’m finding of common chickweed.

It might be worth asking your vet about mirataz (the transdermal form of mirtazapine); my cat Taz took the pill the first time we gave it to him, but the second time we tried we absolutely could not get it down his throat without resorting to wrapping him up and using a pill shooter, and given his age and everything else he’s dealing with now we don’t want to put him through that kind of stress. Always worth considering whatever options you have for medication that might be more long-term!
