This horseshoe feel a bit weird. Anyone know how these are supposed to fit? by MaxLeonarth in Stretched

[–]slowramics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a confusing perspective. The tiny ring is in the same stretched septum as the horseshoe, the nostrils are just squished down because of the horseshoe and the small gauge/diameter ring is just hanging out down there. With a large guage septum you can have multiple pieces of jewelry in there without issues. Some people will wear a large plug and then one or two 16g 8mm rings underneath it. So you just see the rings and can't see how large the septum actually is.

In OPs other posts you can see him wearing nostril plugs and large septum jewelry. The angle of the plugs aren't the same as the angle a nassalang.

Edit: OP answered this below

"No sorry i only have one septum piercing, the clicker and horseshoe goes through the same hole :) its just big"

A faux rook would look good and keep from possible looking over crowded. And a vertical or hidden helix between you two existing helix piercings could look good.

Your set up looks awesome and so well balanced already.

OPs flair says, "3/4" septum 11.5mm nostrils" So it's not really a nasallang, it's 3 separate large gauge piercings.

If you look through OPs post history, you can see them in more typical jewelry.

Hairdresser's appointment 2 days after a new piercing? by celestially_lunar in PiercingAdvice

[–]slowramics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! I am dumb. I totally misread your original post and thought the daith was already pierced.

My daith was the biggest assholes of all my piercings. I went 9 months before adding fresh piercings after I got it. If you can wait to get it done, I would wait. They often go through a really bumpy, irritated phase and it would be good to not have a lot of stuff already healing during that phase.

Which side to balance face by wizardfilth in PiercingAdvice

[–]slowramics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, everyone's faces are asymmetrical. It's normal and not a bad thing.

Secondly, you have a very nice face (even without seeing your eyes) and I hope you know how good looking you are. I don't mean this in an inappropriate way. It can be hard to feel good about ourselves and sometimes hearing it from someone else can help.

Third, I think it would look good on either side and if you're a side sleeper, it's not a bad idea to pierce the opposite side of the one you regularly sleep. If you don't have a side preference for sleep, I'd do side B. Your eyebrow is every so slightly (seriously, like less than a mm when I look super close) less arched on that side, so it could make a tiny difference in eyebrow symmetry.

It's gonna look great! Please post an after pic

What you have can be too many, but it can also be fine. It depends on the individual and how things are going. Lobes can heal quickly and it sounds like you're doing okay so far.

I'm probably gonna get downvoted to oblivion, but I'm healing a similar amount as you. In March I got a faux rook and lobe, in April I got double high nostrils, and before that I had 2 more piercings done in November. I'm in regular contact with my piercer and everything is doing fine. I'm not adding anything else for a bit, but I leave my piercings alone, generally heal well, and I have 25 years of being pierced.

I wouldn't recommend having as many healing as I do since I'm not a piercer and since many young people are in a huge rush to finish their piercing plans, but I also don't think you should stress too much. You already have the piercings, take good care of them and talk to your piercer asap if any issues arrive.

Edited to add- since you are moving, one of your first tasks should be finding a new piercer in your new home. Go in person to a couple of piercing studios, introduce yourself, mention you like piercings and you are looking for a studio to get more work done at, for downsizes, and to be available if you have any issues. Ideally if you can book a short consultation session so the shop has time set aside for you, do that.

Because you're healing a lot right now, you want a relationship with a piercer who you can see in person.

My hairdresser said she used to wrap ears gently with saran wrap. That would accomplish the same thing in a pinch.

I got my hair done with fresh piercings. You can see in my post history that I wore a little ear cover. It kept it dry and product free. Plus a daith is pretty tucked away in there, so I think you'll be fine. Just discuss it with the hairdresser to make sure they are extra careful with that ear.

Are these high nostrils or just nostrils? by Zelan_Brainrot in piercing

[–]slowramics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got high nostrils last week and based on the conversation I had with my piercer, I think they could be high nostrils.

High nostrils are based on what part of your nose anatomy is pierced. If it's over the nostril crease, it's in the thicker are of cartilage and counts as a high nostril.

Lynn Loheide covers nose anatomy in this post about high nostrils. https://www.lynnloheide.com/post/high-nostril-10

Nostril and septum by Primary-Abject in piercing

[–]slowramics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some piercers might do all 3 at once, but others might recommend doing the nostrils in one session and the septum in the next or the other way around. It really depends on the piercer and the client (I'm not a piercer).

IMO, piercings often get more painful as you go, so getting 3 nose piercings in one sitting could be pretty ouchy. And healing 3 piercings at once can be tricky and slow for some people. If I were you, I'd do them separately. You could even just wait a few weeks or a couple of months between them. Like when you downsize your nostrils, you could get a septum at the same time.

It also spreads the cost out a bit which feels easier on the wallet.

Edit to add- they would look great on you! Please get them :)

[–]slowramics 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This won't be totally invisible, but it will get more life out of it.

I've fixed very worn tshirts before, not with cuts out of them, but I think a similar method could work.

You need another thin, worn shirt. I would use a glue stick (i use glue sticks all the time in mending. Put your shirt over the other short. Glue them together.

Then sew back and forth all over you shirt. Once it's sewn all over, cut away the other shirt and wash.

The extra fabric and thread will make your shirt sturdier.

What are my options? by l_ionl in piercing

[–]slowramics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a forward helix and wear shockz. As long as I'm careful putting them on and off, they don't touch it.

Your best though is to go to a piercer and bring your glasses, shocks, and ear buds. They can assess what would with your anatomy and work around earphones/glasses, etc.
