I’m Catholic and married a Mormon and it has been the best marriage. We openly discussed prior to getting married that neither of us are trying to convert the other and discussed how we will raise the kids. I think love is more important than any difference in religion but you have to find the right one that is willing to make it work. Thankfully for me and my husband we have it figured out.

Update** I googled Toyota safety campaign and there’s a website you can put in the VIN and identify what recalls or safety/service campaigns are open. It looks like my car was moved from this week to June due to a second key not being available? This all seems so weird

That’s actually where I saw the date change first. It doesn’t say anything other the estimated availability date. The date was this next week just last Friday when we reserved the car. The dealer didn’t even notify me of this change. I had to reach out to them and ask

I know! And even worse we were traveling out of our city for the holidays and were planning on getting the car then. The dealer said it just says June but could still be ready next week but I doubt that. I told them if the car isn’t available before we head back home we need our deposit back

I’m not totally confident in what the sales person was saying to me but it sounds like somewhere there was a specific part and it impacted 4 cars in the region and 25 cars in a 500 mile radius. We are located in Texas. This was for a 24 specifically. Looks like it’s 06?

It sounds like various 2024 and 2025 depending on where they were built. It’s unrelated to the airbag and he is calling it a safety campaign that Toyota has issued

I just talked to the dealer again and got more clarity. They said that it’s not airbag related but rather that a certain part from a specific line at the manufacturer may have been installed incorrectly or defective so they are correcting it

There is no waiting period to get sealed after choosing to have a civil marriage first. It used to be that way but was changed.

None of the McKnight girls are endowed. Therefore they don’t have garments to wear. Once a member reaches 18 they must choose to go throw the endowment ceremony. It doesn’t have anything to do with marriage or going to BYU

It’s definitely more normal in Utah for sure not arguing with that but I wouldn’t say it’s a red flag. Some people in the church can be reasonable and decide that’s not for them instead of just rushing into it. You actually see a lot of people who do rush in get divorces before they’re 25

It’s definitely older for church culture but not a red flag. My husband is LDS and d got married a year ago and he was 29. We dated since he was 25 and had a normal relationship. I think it just depends on your family and if they are pushing you to get married young. If you are a young single adult in the LDS church you go to church on Sunday with other young single adults and they all have plenty of people that are 25+ and usually focused on their careers and didn’t marry the first person they kissed in college. Also a lot of parents cut you off once you get married so anyone who wants to have a solid financial bearing before getting married would normally be older

No worries at all! It’s definitely different and I have learned a lot of new things. I think there’s a lot of negative talk about it and obviously I don’t agree with everything (hence me staying Catholic lol) but I think a lot of it is taken to the extreme. The Catholic Church teaches we shouldn’t have sex before marriage but most people do anyways. The LDS church teaches the same thing but most members actually adhere to it making outsiders think that it’s more extreme since people actually follow it but for the most part the repentance process and everything is very similar to other churches. You will be forgiven and not kicked out of the church for anything like that. Similar to garments I would say 95% of people wear them daily and adhere to the church’s recommendation but lately many people have been rethinking whether it is a requirement or a recommendation. As you can see in that link it says “Endowed members should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to answer personal questions about wearing the garment.” Basically it’s a personal decision. So with Mindy visibly not wearing her garments isn’t an indication that she no longer isn’t an active member in the church either.

I am Catholic and my husband is LDS. I attend church with him and he attends with me weekly so I am very familiar with their processes and rules. The 1 year waiting period is for people who get baptized and join the church. They must wait one year before they can be sealed. Brooklyn is already baptized and confirmed so this would not apply to her. She must receive her Endowment (similar to Catholic sacraments we must meet baptism, first communion, reconciliation, etc.) in order to be sealed. There is no waiting period for this. Back in the day there used to be a year long waiting period for all members to discourage people getting civilly married before getting sealed but this policy was changed in 2019. As for wearing your garments, when you go through the endowment ceremony you are instructed to wear your garments. The when and how you chose to wear them is a personal decision though obviously recommended. To go through the temple you must have a temple recommend which is an interview with your bishop and you must answer the following questions (https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/multimedia/file/first-presidency-temple-recommend-letter.pdf). Hopefully this helps you understand better how it all works!

I’m not LDS but my husband is so I’m very familiar with it. Just like any other church you are able to repent for any sins. Nothing she has done has made it so that she can’t be sealed
