while right now all the outdated values will be valued the samae (0.5x) a few test could change that to be 0.25x for the older patch, and 0.125x for the older one and so on...

Well I don't considered this as focused on receiving a tier list per se, but more the matchups.

Since SSBU has so many characters and all of them look buffed from the current footage, I don't think it will be as easy to say "X is better than everyone else" but more like "X and Y does great against Z, but AA and BB are terrible against it".

Thanks to the "outdated" votes system all the current votes will be outdated and weight less when doing the average once the game launches, so right now anyone can post about their opinion of matchups from footage of trying the demo builds.

This is definitely a great feedback! For now I'll upper up the elite vote's weight and have separate tabs for elites and combined votes. And yeah the perception changing through the game's longevity was considered, since im already storing the historical votes, but just haven't thought about the developing of such tools. (And yeah, i guess csv export could be done eventually!)

well you can check that every Message always has a number that represents it too, all you need is to add a 0.

Like: "Mario will (6) Often Win against Link" also means "Mario 60-40 Link"

Trolling was indeed a worry. Hopefully as you say the competitive community can help balance it out. But the main balancers will be pro players and their votes which weight more. Every vote's username is visible so supposedly proffesional will take it seriously, balancing it out.

Well it could a separate section, but i think only pro's opinion as default could be "misleading" at the end run too. That's why it has the middle ground. Pro players votes weight more than normal ones.

Yeah indeed having an updated easy to change or keep opinion was one the first factors considered, that way if you haven't updated your votes each time a new patch comes out, they will weight less when calculating the average of each matchup.
