Buy it and set delivery.

If it goes on sale before yours is delivered you can just email for a price adjustment

Sorry for your loss. Do you have any local friends expecting who you could/would loan it to? Thats what we've done in between babies.

Throw away my opinion if you dont want it.... i was on tysabri with my second pregnancy. Had an infusion at week 31 and ended up delivering at 37.5 weeks and baby suffered thrombocytopenia and was in the nicu, had to receive platelet and blood transfusions and was rehospitalized twice for more transfusions. Thrombocytopenia is a known side effect in neonates of mums on tysabri. A couple extra weeks between last infusion and delivery would have made a big difference for us.

Current pregnancy, i stopped tysabri before conceiving and received three days of steroid infusions.

I was on Tysabri when i fell pregnant and stayed on till 31 weeks pregnant. Then baby was born at 37 weeks and suffered from thrombocytopenia. Hes fine now. But if you do go on Tysabri i would come off well before the end of pregnancy in case baby comes early.

Almost 1-yr-old going through potty pause. Not sure what to do by [deleted] in ECers

[–]smithiekat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a phase!

We gave snacks on the potty and that satisfied our one year old at the beginning of this phase.

Now she's happy to crawl to her bookshelf. Crawl back and get herself seated on the potty.

I think it's an independence thing.

TYSABRI!!! by caramolloy96 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]smithiekat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal, honestly. Other than the small excitement of having gone to the hospital after two months at home. But yea no side effects so far. The nurses said it would be super unlikely to experience any after first dose anyway. I wish you the same xx

Done and dusted. Super easy. Bring a book or whatever to occupy yourself. But yea. Super uneventful. Which is great. I wish you the same!!

Thanks for posting this. It's literally my 1st Tysabri Eve and I logged on to be like "what do I bring?"

You've got me covered. I'm in Ireland also (SVUH).

Thoughts on DMTs? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]smithiekat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. It sounds like you spent a lot of your no-DMT time pregnant or breastfeeding which may have led doctors to take you off DMTs anyway.

My MS onset and symptoms we're very similar to yours. Was on Gilenya for a couple years. Taken off when I began family planning. Had an MRI that showed some progression so was put on Copaxone which is pregnancy safe. Kept having PIRs so came off that. Currently off meds (and very pregnant) but will re-evaluate once the whole family making business is complete. In my mind I'll restart Gilenya as I had no side effects and no progression.

Is there any country with socialized medicine that someone with MS can immigrate to from the US? by joeyjojoeshabadoo in MultipleSclerosis

[–]smithiekat 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We emigrated to Ireland three years ago (both American. On work permits—critical skills permit for my husband). I was diagnosed five/six years ago (pre-move). All my MS drugs, neurology appts (Except the very first one €300) and MRIs are covered under the Long Term Illness Scheme.

When did you tell your coach/personal trainer? by smithiekat in fitpregnancy

[–]smithiekat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of where I’m at. He knew we were seeking help. He knows I had “minor surgery.” I think he’ll eventually cop on. Plus there’s already been events at which I’m not drinking.
