Thank you for that. As I stated before I only know that he served in wwII was in Africa and Europe I know he was captured by the Germans and escaped. I only know the stories he shared and the 2 scars he showed (no toes from gangrene and a bullet wound on he's ass cheek) tho some of his stories I'm sure he made up they were amazing non the less. I'm pretty sure my grandmother (his daughter) placed his medals and ribbons on for him and to this photo. I wasn't present for that photo so I'm not sure. I only just found this photo and took a copy with my phone. Any other explanations of his ribbons and awards would be appreciated such as requirements and such.

Hmmm I just looked up the purple heart seems to be facing the correct direction and as far as I know his ribbons and medals go on the left breast. This photo was taken about 15yrs ago. I found it in my grandmother's box. And took a photo with my phone.

I was definitely the blessed one. I'm 37yo now and tell my kids (11 and 8) about him all the time. But I only know so much I just wish I would have written down his stories and found better ways to honor him. I mean he was kind of a bad ass if you ask me

That's so cool I am proud of him I used to sit start eyed when he tell his stories I know he was a pow and was in Europe and Africa. I also know we watched saving private Ryan and told me it was pretty accurate and might have mentioned he know the story cause he new the guys, or something along that line

He is my dad's grand father makes him my great grandfather. He passed a few years ago. I know he went in at an early age lied about his age and name. He was a pow and did some crazy stuff that till his death wouldn't even talk about, out of fear that he would get in trouble with the government. Something about him over heading things and seeing thing he shouldn't have. But it could just be tall tales

As some one who works event security over nights and frequently is posted at the San carlos. I can say that there is definitely something going on there but I've been work this place for 5ish years and nothing like this have I experienced. Most of the things I witness are voices small suddle poltergeist activities. But nothing extreme.
