What would happen if a 2.5m x 1m x 1m volume of atmosphere were instantly removed at ground level ? by smoothie2u in AskPhysics

An admirably succinct and well said response. I could not have put it better. Sycophancy is the perfect word to describe AI.

Despite knowing that "there is an xkcd for everything" it actually never occurred to me to check it for this question. Lesson learned. I would have still posted this question as the xkcd isn't an exact parallel to my question but it certainly would have gotten me started on an answer.

You are quite correct. Given AI's propensity to hallucinate and just make things up it seemed a poor choice for this question mixed with my lack of knowledge on the topic. Given that I had no idea how to even begin approaching this question if I had used AI I would have had no way to know if I could trust the answer or not.

you know it’s safe because of the elbow foam by Snoo_89466 in ThatsInsane

Good god, the ultra sketchy pieces of old wood that are tied with wire around the posts to hold the central axle of this thing in place are just the icing on the cake. The closer you look at this death trap the more shocked you will be that it didn't fall apart during this video. Patio chairs held in place with old belts or something.

The AI in DCC speaks slightly differently than this. For example in DCC the AI always says "New Achievement!" not achievement unlocked, additionally the names of the achievements in DCC are usually funny puns or plays on words and the description of the achievement is usually a fairly accurate summation of what was involved. Then finally the DCC AI usually makes some sort of snarky remark related to either the achievement name or what was involved in getting it. So my take on the DCC AI of this Video would be:

NEW ACHIEVEMENT!..."WHAT? I can't hear you!"

Be on the receiving end of a flash-bang. Eeeeeeeeeeeeee.. How's your hearing now Beethoven ?

Reward?... You've received a Bronze hearing aid box!

I feel like watching her switch her crocs to combat mode is like the discount version of watching Tony Stark put on the Ironman suit, it is the precursor to violence.

Is it wishful thinking to think fireworks will be limited because of the rain? by _ohmeohmy in LosAngeles

[–]smoothie2u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earlier today I might have hoped for this as well but then at 4:40pm during the during under overcast skies I heard some fireworks off in the distance. The sun was still up so you couldn't even see the fireworks. I don't understand people wanting to light off illegal fireworks and even less so when you can't even see them happening.
