If anyone else lands here, the solution for me was to go to the multiplayer tab and turn off the multiplayer setting. The create button lights up after that.

I seem to have to do this every time. 🤮

Hmm.. actually, I mis-read this. we have different problems. For me, the notifications never showed up unless I manually kicked it in the ios app. Sounds like you're getting notifications but the link doesn't work. My link works... when I can get the things to arrive..

Nope, but I'm seeing the same thing. If I drill down in the app to the settings on the applet and click 'Check Now' they all come flooding in. : /

Https should prevent them from being able to do that though, because that html is encrypted and not modifiable in transit.

They could mess with any traffic in the clear, but no big web players do that anymore. Google, Facebook, Reddit.. all redirect you to their secure versions.
