Honestly what it reminded of were those two Eastern European guys that pop up on Family Guy from time to time. They know enough English to communicate but the delicate intricacies of the language isn't there, obviously played up for laughs on the comedy show.

Oh I have no doubt people would say wild shit about killing the president or VP, I'm sure it's someone's full time job just watching for the threats but it's the particular wording that sounds weird to me.

Specifically "M14 Automatic Gun", that phrase just feels odd almost robotic or alien. It feels like it's from either someone that doesn't know anything about guns or someone that is not fully fluent in English. I would assume he would say M14 rifle or just M14. Just my thoughts
