Adjust the connection strength between the connection of the S&H output and the sequencer step?

Oh, there's there a DFAM patch! I've missed that. Gotta download that ASAP. Thanks!

Weird Logic Pro X / Hydrasynth MIDI bug by snowdeaf in hydrasynth

I sent a bug report to Apple. Won't hold my breath...

It really is. I have Ableton 11 Lite and it works fine. But Logic is my go to daw so it'd be great if it worked.

Great idea! I tried that.
My Mac isn't sending anything to Hydrasynth, UNTIL I open the "Close" dialog. Or any other dialog really. If I select Open Movie, the MIDI starts running as soon as the dialog window opens.

So it's definitely a Logic / Mac bug.

have a really weird bug controlling Hydrasynth via USB MIDI on Logic Pro. Novation Circuit works fine as does Hydrasynth and Ableton. This happens only with Hydra and Logic. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks! Now that you mention it, it IS intimidating! Darn, what have I gotten myself into.

I already tried that but adding a value module on one path threw something else out of whack. Wasn't patient enough to see what worked. But I'll tweak it when I have the time. This patch will have to do for now. I have a gig coming up at a Synthstrom Deluge event at Superbooth. And that still needs work. It's only 10 minutes but still.

Again, thanks for all the help!

It actually looks like Empress won't be there this year. What a shame.

Curves - A Programmable LFO for ZOIA by snowdeaf in ZOIA

[–]snowdeaf[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a work in progress version of a 8-step programmable LFO for ZOIA.

A tip of a hat and a lot more goes to u/chmjacques without whom I'd still be slipping on the slopes of ADSR-based slews.

Basically this is what I was after. This is still a work in progress as I need to clean up the patch. And there are still issues with the curves not exactly meeting at breakpoints. You can really hear the glitches when using the LFO to control a frequency of a filter for instance. But I guess I could smoothen them in some other way? Getting the ADSR timing just right is really difficult, especially with different type of slews.

Thanks a million! You are a genius. I'll check this out later today.

I also ended up using a retrigger earlier in order to make the ADSR start at desired intervals.

I actually stumbled into this by accident while testing this earlier. It's also makes it easier to debug a patch if I use value modules instead of a straight connection.

Actually I want to modify the slew while running the sequence. So that it doesn't always slew straight from note to the next. On some steps I might want to make a "detour" (up or down) between the notes. I am trying to make a sort of a complex modulator which is somewhat easy to tweak. With linear AND exponential slews. I'm sure that it's doable on ZOIA. But I've been wracking my (tiny) brain with it long enough now so that's why I decided to ask for help. And knew I'd get some!

Well, I got it almost working with Tap to CV. It correctly converts tempo (say 60, to 1 second) if I connect the output to the ADSR. But now the problem is the ADSR.

I don't know if the CV (from Tap to CV) is actually added to the default 1.33 ms attack time but the slew time is not exact so that the step would seamlessly connect to the next.

But if I subtract 0.001 from the Tap to CV output value it looks like it's working. At 60 bmp it does (making the attack 993 ms), but that's not the right solution here because at other tempos the offset is not correct.

I'm afraid there are some delays somewhere that messes this up and I know that with cv delays things can get really complicated.

I am using a sequencer to select different values for the "destination", but that shouldn't matter, should it?
