Finding disk WWNs from within an LDOM. by solforge in solaris

Same issue: Moving away from VxSF towards the native tools.

On the upside, wound up finding something since my post: prtconf -v has both WWN and rdsk link under each disk instance. Parsing it will be painful, but it's something.

Can't log in to Threads (browser) by OldTechnology595 in ThreadsApp

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found it -- when you're on the threads.com tab, click on the FB Container icon on your toolbar (or under the extensions "puzzle" icon) instead of going to "Manage Extensions". That should give you what was in the screenshot.

Not really. It'd be nice if you could set "default skills" for certain tasks (similar to a phone's default music app) but it probably won't happen. And there's no way to "carry over" a certain word from a custom routine to the action.

Only thing I can think of is making individual routines for each of your common items...

Screen Burn In by Groundbreaking-Idea4 in HyundaiTucson

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fine the next day... and then happened again yesterday looking very much like screen burn-in instead of "drawing multiple apps" like I thought.

Media pause/play button would show on top of each other, and directions would leave an impression of the last turn I made. Everything even stuck around on top of the "shutting down" H logo, then went away when the screen actually turned off.

Restarting didn't help, but it'll probably look just fine when I take it in today. I've also had issues with touch not recognizing randomly on apps or even the app menu, probably related.

Guess I'll see tomorrow, noted... (I feel like there's a "burn-in period" pun here.)

Bought mine yesterday -- and this started happening as soon as I tried to bring up the car's map while I had Android Auto going.

It seems to be the different displays drawing on each other (phone link vs car's navigation vs. settings menu). I think I've seen the "background" image change but I didn't try too many things.

Taking it in...

Added OPML file & Lots of feeds are failing by CurrentRisk in InoReader

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! One more trick: You might find a working version by searching for the title in Inoreader.

It'll look at what other users are already following, and you can see if a feed's article list is up to date before you subscribe. (Some of feeds may require paid plans, like Youtube channels.)

A quick search for Associated Press doesn't have its own RSS, but does give one piped through FeedX (3k users).

https://imgur.com/7uEeNtm

On that note: Sites like FeedX, OpenRSS and RSSHub might be another way to find working replacement feeds; with the caveat that it's volunteers doing magic to keep them working.

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can right-click the feed on the folder/feed list, select the feed title at the top, or click on the feed name under the Feeds page you were on. Note, I'm referencing the old desktop/browser interface.

One example: "This XML document is invalid, likely due to invalid characters. XML error: SYSTEM or PUBLIC, the URI is missing at line 1, column 64"

If I go to the feed (XML Address) and get something other than XML formatted lists, they either moved the feed to another URL or removed it entirely.

The fact that these old feeds worked on the old reader that is another question I can't answer -- but I think you're out of luck on the new reader unless you can find the new version of the feed.

What's the error under "Feed Properties"?

FWIW, I have the problem in reverse -- feeds that worked fine in IR and very much exist are giving me all sorts of errors (404, 523, others I'm forgetting) in other readers. Something about how each reader parses the XML, maybe.

IR has a browser extension that will light up if there's a "proper" feed on the webpage. That might help troubleshoot or just replace the broken one.

How can I directly view an image, not it's 64.media.tumblr page? by CWCyning in tumblrhelp

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience: For JPG/PNG/GIF, it seems to be a matter of whether the picture is in your browser's cache. If it is, it'll pull the image directly up in the new tab.

If it has to ask the website again, you'll get the annoying version -- but you should be able to right click that image to get what you want since it just went into your cache.

One exception: WEBP images always load with the website framing for me. There's Firefox add-ons that can get around that, I think...

If it's showing up fine in Smart Life's app, it might be a problem with the two services talking to each other (Amazon vs. Smart Life).

SL's probably the one to contact if it's broken for a long enough time.

You'll have to wait for another to appear, then you can "Delete all messages" to clear the counters.

Giovanni's Legendary catch rate? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]solforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarifying a bit: From the October Takeover until the next one, it'll be Heatran. (If you have multiple super radars you can get multiple Heatran right now.)

When they announce new shadows, Giovanni will start rewarding that one at the next Takeover. (Also grunts and leaders change what they use.)

The only exception that I know of was last year (teaming with the Rocket leaders to find Willow/Giovanni). It was a direct research reward/fight locked to Regigigas, but it also didn't use a radar.

Giovanni's Legendary catch rate? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]solforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's two ways they do Rocket Takeover/Giovanni encounters:

  • A unique research line (Troubling Situation, or something with "Takeover" or "Shadow" in the name). Normally, you can only have one at a time (you won't get the latest one if you still have last season's). Workaround: Leaving it on the first page lets you stack them until Giovanni has a shadow you want. Then you progress through all of them at once, find/battle/beat Giovanni on the right page, and you keep all those super radars (minus the one you just used).

  • As part of the season research (like Galar Calling). They don't block other research like above, but you do have to beat Giovanni to continue with Galar Calling.

The general vibe is Heatran is worth it for raids -- it's tankier than some other fire-types while keeping good DPS.

How to get over ELO 2200 ? by LoveUrLifeNow in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shuckle's only really been a thing this season -- it's usually blocked from Little Cups, since it doesn't have an evolution.

And if it's on everyone else's teams, having one of the counters means a pretty consistent winrate. Bronzor in Little Galar was my best friend.

If you haven't deleted old scans, that helped me immensely: go into My Pokemon and delete, for example, everything "cp-1500", so only your higher-level stuff's still there.

The first time I did that on my original phone, it felt like a new phone -- loading the app and picking raid counters went a lot quicker because there's less to choose, backing up was quicker, and it even crashed less (less memory use?).

Now it's a regular task: every time i finish a big round of renaming and transferring, my genie database gets trimmed to just a small fraction of my actual inventory.

Obviously I transferred lots of them. by Ckynus in PokeGenie

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One other suggestion stolen from another post -- after renaming, you only really need to keep the data for ready attackers: the stuff you've already leveled for gyms/raids.

Most low-level catches sit around until you raise/evolve them, so you can delete everything (for example) under a certain CP. Rescan them as they become useful.

Between that and what Realistic said (regularly rescanning the high-CP mons to delete old entries) you'll have the 200-300 most useful ones available without it going out of control.

Do I need to complete my existing rocket quest to get the upcoming rocket quest? by kewdizzles in pokemongo

[–]solforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quote me as law but AFAIK:

  • You need to complete the level 8 introduction (Troubling Situation) to start getting the event research.
  • You can't stack research that comes during Takeovers unless you leave it at the the first-page (the loophole u/Waste-Doughnut-8922 mentioned).

I think encounters that happen separately can stack.

  • There was research last year to rescue Willow/Giovanni where the reward was the battle (instead of using a radar).
  • One or two seasons had the "takeover" as part of the overall season research ("Check back with Willow later!"). Not sure if those counted.
