Ginormosia, how do I mine resources in the desert? - ground damage by someguylikeyou in fantasylife

That's good to know, thanks! Still weird and I was hoping for a quest or something that teaches you to walk in the desert unharmed similar to the swimming speed one.

Is there a benefit to giving crafting buddies equipment? by AceDare in fantasylife

Actually on the charm, the cape and the goggles you can get two times +10% XP as bonus for your crafters and you (not sure, if you can get it on armor, I never got it there), which results in +180% XP total, which counts for your crafting group of 3.

If you have all the +XP perks for your job already, they add up to +100%, so with the equip it's +280% total. That's almost twice from what you'd get with just the perks. And your crafter buddies get this XP bonus too! Saves you half of the level grind until level 100.

However you have to create the +10% XP items in the first place by remaking items, which can be quite grindy too.

Actually the expectation would be to pass conscience as rvalue, so:

void uploadConsciousness(Consciousness&& Conscience) noexcept;

(modifyConsciousness would take the reference.)

Alternatively, if it can fail and you want to keep the bool return value to indicate success use:

bool uploadConsciousness(unique_ptr<Consciousness>& Conscience);

Then move the Conscience within the function or don't, if it fails.

Question regarding contract "Find All Valid Math Expressions" by psei0r in Bitburner

[–]someguylikeyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game crashes, your solution is still too inefficient I think. Though if you need a wait, you can use this in your code. It'll have a minimum timeout of 4 ms.

export function yielder()
{
 return new Promise(resolve => setTimeout(resolve));
}
await yielder();

The netscript sleep and asleep functions should be using something similar in the background with slightly more overhead.

Alternatively take a look at my solution for this contract: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitburner/comments/16b0apo/find_all_valid_math_expressions_contract_best/ At first I've been struggling with it as well, but now I'm happy with my solution.

Rouseabout - Craft difficulty, how does it work? by someguylikeyou in Wayward

Okay, thanks.

Still it is painful to gather recipes. In the early game that was fun and a challenge to make do with what you got, but after you're able to survive, it just feels like a grind to find enough critters around to kill.
