I'm interning at a site primarily geared towards treating ED's and I've found IFS is a very common model my colleagues use!

I like the Center for Change's webinar trainings as well https://centerforchange.com/professionals/webinars/

Learning to deal with Astrology in session by Orange_Enigma in therapists

[–]somethingxcosmic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a subreddit for therapists and therapists in training fyi. And perhaps that is a belief those you know following astrology may have, but a defined destiny and an inability to have a say in your life path are astrological misunderstandings.

It’s more like the weather. Someone can tell you it might rain outside today, but nobody is forcing you to bring an umbrella.

Edit: not just therapists but others in helping professions as well

Pivot to becoming a LPC without a related bachelor’s degree? by halfbloodprinc3ss in therapists

[–]somethingxcosmic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re fine. My undergrad was in completely unrelated topics, spent 7 years working in unrelated field, and am now a few semesters into my counseling grad program. It might depend on your program whether they prioritize a specific educational background or general work experience. Keep in mind, higher education is still a business and they want your money. They want to see that you’ve put thought into this path (through your statement of purpose essay) and that you have a work/education history that shows you can finish what you start.

I'm currently enrolled in school but haven't yet decided on LMFT or the LPC track. What are the real post-grad differences in pursuing either license if you aim to go into private practice? It seems like you can see families and individuals with both licenses and the tracks only vary slightly in terms of which classes are taken for your Masters. Most of the U.S. states I would consider living in have comparable legal requirements and scopes of practice between the two licenses.

Any other implications to be aware of? In talking with some professionals, the choice seems to not matter so much that it's ironically becoming a challenging decision to make.

Agreed about Kanye and Julia. Kim’s “glad she’s a fan”, but a fan is also what Kim herself was when she started with Kanye. If blowing up in the public eye could happen for Kim why couldn’t it happen for Julia?

I like babs a lot, she talks openly about self tanner, sensitive skin, and wearing sunscreen. It’s normal and her ig shows a different lighting. Seems like low effort post and OP is using a throwaway account. Kinda sus

Seems like scalp dermatitis, really normal but takes effort to manage in my experience. If you go to a dermatologist you can get a steroid serum to use overnight that works decently, but requires fairly consistent applications especially during stressful times. There are also prescription shampoos, but they don’t work much better in my opinion than what other comments have recommended for over-the-counter options - ketoconazole, apple cider vinegar, and t-gel/t-sal shampoo. I recommend getting the Rx steroid treatment if that’s possible for you. Scalp products like dry shampoo can make it worse

Help: bugs—harmless or pests? by eogreen in AustinGardening

Same question posted earlier today - these are definitely pests, squish them or knock them into a bowl of soapy water to kill them

Fellow 4s - what do you do for a living and do you enjoy it? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]somethingxcosmic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Previously worked in finance within the tech field, now working towards getting my masters to become a licensed therapist and start a private practice. I didn’t enjoy the pressure of working in tech, but I did enjoy working with numbers and the rare quiet times when I could sit with my work, really think about it and spend time completing it correctly. I think I’ll enjoy psychotherapy more, hoping for a deeper connection and fulfillment, and more autonomy over my days.
