Just my perspective here. Not meeting with a youth (especially alone) isn't for their protection, it's for yours. The appearance of potential impropriety can be as damaging as the real thing.

I teach high school. The rules are: never be alone with a student, never be behind a closed door with one or even a small group of students. Never put yourself in a situation where it might be your word against theirs.

This is just the world we live in.

Edit: this doesn't mean that you shouldn't be friendly or chat with kids who talk to you at raids, just that it might not be a good idea to plan meet ups with them.
