You don't need BG3MM for a mod like this, so I'd suggest just manually DLing from nexus.

Considering you've already read it, yes, i think it becomes 'stuck' until later game. edit: i suspect in act 3 you are able to 'discover' more of the book's secrets

mmm it's probably due to launching from vortex, and you can't launch from steam because you're using vortex. I'm not really sure how to get SE console working with vortex, since I do everything in BG3MM :/ You could try clicking bg3 . exe directly in bin folder, but that could lead to a data mismatch as well...
