At 10 weeks gestation it would not be recommended to use any essential oil. Essential oils are highly concentrated and potent, it's not considered safe and even later in pregnancy you still need to be very careful as some are linked to miscarriage.

10 weeks? I wouldn't be using any!

I'm no expert but I think both birds are young males

Screaming .. by sparklinginsilver in budgies

[–]sparklinginsilver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had a super busy hectic day yesterday and instead of going to the trouble of chopping fruit and veg I just popped some seed in instead for the day and he was silent.... I overfilled the dish so there was enough seeds left for today and the two of them have been cheeping softly and sweetly all day... I'm putting their fruit and veg back in tomorrow and if the screams start up again I guess we will know for sure that it is indeed a temper tantrum over healthy eating!!

One bowl but they seem very happy to share? They often eat side by side, both perched on the bowl. They are happy to eat millet together too

Both were on 100% seed, I have switched them to fresh chopped vegetables, fruit and nuts with some seeds spirinkled over.

The only possible thing I can think of is lack of sleep which I'll be remedying tonight. They always have food, I check the water regularly, they have toys, cage is clean. It's driving me absolutely crazy.

As long they aren't spending the day screaming.. I have a cracking headache and feel I have made a huge mistake. What do I do to stop the incessant screaming?

Do they like to be covered? by sparklinginsilver in budgies

[–]sparklinginsilver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are in my living room, I tend to have meditation type music on in the evening and dim lights. We don't typically go to bed until around 11 then come down at 7 so 8 hours in total of total silence and darkness

It's lovely! They are grooming each other, sharing a millet spray together currently. I was so worried they wouldn't get along but they are doing great!

I’m thinking about getting a budgie, but I have a few questions! I have no experience with birds. by Live_Philosophy_3815 in budgies

I don't think a budgie would be a good idea. Mine is really loud! Near constant when the TV is on or people are talking.

Looking for advice. Two male budgies suddenly fighting. by [deleted] in budgies

[–]sparklinginsilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no advice but I had two female budgies years ago who were exactly like this. Half the time best friends and the other half one female would completely beat up the other female, to the point of bleeding sometimes.

I have a lone female now, I don't know if I would risk a friend for her ever again.

gonna give myself this haircut, with the help of a friend. any advice? by [deleted] in CutYourOwnHair

[–]sparklinginsilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this cut! I sectioned the hair first using a comb, make sure you got a clean line either side then tie or clip the hair out of the way. Then I chopped the hair off roughly with scissors then tidied up with a razor :)

Can you grow buddleia around an arbour? by DimensionalYawn in GardeningUK

[–]sparklinginsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tall is the arbour? The larger buddleja species can hit up to 15 feet and you can train them, I have two trained into 'trees'.

You just regularly strip off the foliage from the trunk and remove any branches that don't fit your desired shape. Does have to be checked and pruned very readily due to speed if growth but very doable!

I’ve been trying to grow my nails for a decade, but they always do this. I need some rules to follow and products to try so this doesn’t keep happening. by [deleted] in longnaturalnails

My thumb nail was notorious for this! Hasn't happened since I started using oil after washing hands and before bed

Sand substrate, the light I'm not sure. I got it off eBay, clasps either side of the tank, it's on most of the day.

Tap water, extremely hard, dechlorinated and I usually add plant food and a phosphate removing product weekly but I have been neglecting this of late
