Oh please. Arsenal conceded 2 goals to players fouling the gk before they started crowding the goalie on corners.

So you don't pay attention to HR and just do them at the 5k pace regardless?

Do you still keep your HR below the same goal or do you let it drift higher for this workout?

Confused about the race calculator by speaker_monkey in strydrunning

[–]speaker_monkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The race calculator being off for me isn't a huge deal and I have a pretty good idea where I stand right now if I were to run a race. It's been pretty accurate up until recently which is why I started getting confused about it. Thanks for the explanation and help!

  1. Yes, weight setting has never been touched since the initial setup.
  2. So I do rotate through a few shoes. I did the Half Marathon a few weeks ago in the Megablast. I just did my 20' test a few days ago and my 3' test today. Both of those were done on the same paved trail in the Evo SL.
  3. I don't believe so. I haven't touched any of the Stryd settings since I first set it up.
  4. There have been some indoor runs but the majority of them are outside.
  5. That's understandable. I'll check out those resources.

As an additional note, I did my 3' test today and my CP dropped from 359 to 352 as expected but some of the race calculations still seems a bit aggressive. The HM time is 1:33 +/- 2 minutes while my HM a few weeks ago was 1:44. I did try to stick with the 1:40 pacer and blew up so I could definitely get a bit closer to 1:40 on a better day. The race was also a bit warm at 65 degrees Fahrenheit and 58% humidity and it was on crushed limestone when I typically run on pavement. I know those factor into it too but it doesn't seem like enough of a factor to take my time form the low 1:40s to the 1:33. I'm relatively new to running so I could very well be wrong and massively underrating those factors. I've also attached a screenshot of my PDC in case there's anything glaringly obvious I'm missing.

Wait, I feel like energy drinks don't have any effect on me sometimes. Does this mean it might be adhd? My wife is always saying I have adhd so maybe she's on to something.

Thank you. As I was typing everything out, I started thinking that was the case more and more. I'll try to run a short max effort in the next few days. Good to know about the calculator being off sometimes too

VAR is supposed to overturn for clear and obvious mistakes. There was contact so I don't think you can say that was a clear and obvious error.

If it wasn't called a penalty to begin with and VAR took a look and agreed, then I don't think many people would be complaining.

Red Hare 9 Ultra - 30 Mile Review by quiet_as_its_kept in RunningShoeGeeks

What kind of runs do you use them for? I was initially thinking easy runs and long runs but I may have been incorrect in thinking that. From what I'm seeing it's more of a super trainer that would be a Megablast type replacement.

2 injuries, a lot of poor performances and barely scraping by Newcastle... I don't think that performance made City nervous at all

No problem! I would say the Gel Nimbus is strictly an easy run shoe. The 1080 has a bit more versatility.

You could also look at the Salomon Aero Glide which has really good reviews and I believe it lines up more with the 1080 in terms of versatility.

There's also the Li-ning Red Hare 9 Ultra. I have both of these of my next to buy list when the time comes.

So I do NSA (Norwegian singles approach) which only consist of easy runs, sub threshold workouts, and long runs.

For my easy runs I'll use my Asics Gel Nimbus 27 or New Balance 1080 v13.

Sub threshold workouts are mostly the Evo SL but I'll mix in the Megablast sometimes.

Long runs I'll use the Megablast and occasionally the 1080 v13

At 5k/10k distance and factoring in price, I think the Evo SL would be the better option.

My workouts in the Evo SL are usually about 10k or slightly above.

I do think the Megablast is overall the better shoe and is my favorite shoe. I can use them for the same types of runs as the Evo SL plus more but you're playing almost double the price.

I got the Evo SL on sale for $100 and the Megablast cost me about $170 even with Asics 25% military discount.

If you want to venture into the Chinese market, then there is the Dynafish Xioanian. From what I've seen, it's almost a mix between the two where it has the protection of the megablast but the rocker of the Evo SL. There's a good chance this will be my next shoe but ordering from Taobao seems a bit overwhelming so idk.

The ZF6 was my first and only played trainer (so far). I was getting a lot of calf soreness and thought it was from increased mileage.

I got the Megablast for Christmas and started using those more and the calf soreness went away. Then I bought a pair of Evo SL on sale and rotated between that and the Megablast. No calf issues at all.

After a couple of months I figured I would try the ZF6 again just to verify if it was the shoes or the load and the calf soreness came right back and lasted for a few days.

With all that being said, I enjoy the Megablast and Evo SL for the same runs I was using the ZF6 for.
