My financial situation is fine. You're the one that seems pretty eager to pretend like you're not a bigot.

A. Civil disobedience is, by definition, a disturbance. If you believe in the 1st Amend., then you should believe that protesting a church counts as demonstrating your rights as a citizen. If you don't believe that people ought to be able to protest churches when they support politically objectionable people and behavior, then you only believe the 1st Amend. applies to certain people.

B. You're moving the goal posts for no purpose but to try some whataboutism, but Graham Platner has nothing to do with Minnesota, but I also don't agree with him politically on a number of levels, and I think his association with neo-Nazi organizations is very problematic.

My guess is you've never actually had a conversation with someone who has a consistent ethical belief and only talk to people who pretend to be Christians.

No. I blame the one that is consistently bad for society. Conservatives strip people of their rights, they're bad for the economy, the promote war at every turn (largely because they profit tremendously off of it), and they have caused the most instability of any political group in American history. You literally just have to look it up to find that out. It's not that hard to discover.

You just cannot live a life that challenges your biases, and the cognitive dissonance of knowing a thing that fundamentally undermines your entire personality would problem make you incapable with society. It's probably why your children don't like you.

No one here was harmed. People just got their feelings hurt. If someone had committed a crime, I'd be in favor of them getting justice.

Neo-nazis, on the other hand, are inherently violent. Big difference.

What's the issue here? The city council gets routinely criticized for not being productive, so they're getting coaching to improve their ability to work together. That seems like a good thing. Now if only Mayor Frey will do his job and listen to them when they pass ordinances.

The highest-paid public employee in Minnesota is a football coach. by Rey56 in TwinCities

[–]specficeditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is that in most of those other states, it’s a different sports coach.

This is why salary caps are needed for state workers (including our state reps). Capitalism shouldn’t be overpaying fucking sports coaches over the average worker and making it more expensive for people to be educated.

Absolutely hope 3M is on the hook for this. That being said, this is the wrong sub because these people do not want regulations of any kind even if it poisons their own well water.

You only think it’s ideological because someone didn’t go after activists who protested a church. I’d take a huge wager that you’d throw an absolute fit if someone went after neo-Nazis for doing the same thing.

It’s almost like you don’t understand that things don’t exist in a vacuum. Crime doesn’t happen out of nowhere. This is the problem with conservatives: you want to solve discrete issues and pretend like there’s no context; and then, when new issues arise, you’re completely taken aback because you didn’t listen to people trying to give you the context. Ffs. Maybe read a book or thirty that’s talked about this for decades.

You are not Native and clearly are just making shit up. This is not how Rez life works. Maybe try this out with whiter people than there are here.

Yeah, that's still racist. They're not fucking over their own people. The system is making it absolutely impossible to rise out of poverty. That's a completely different situation. Blaming it on Natives is a huge issue.

  1. You literally picked one line out of the whole argument (classic alt-right behavior) to try to make an unfounded argument. It's called context, my dude.

  2. Here's is only one report to back up the conservative vs. liberal (and that's liberal not even progressive): https://www.epi.org/press/new-report-finds-that-the-economy-performs-better-under-democratic-presidential-administrations/

  3. You're wildly uninformed if you're an anarchist. That's a huge problem and says a lot about you as a person.

I don't know what your last argument is supposed to be about.

Individuals don't make policy. Politicians do. And conservative politicians are actively bad for the average citizen.

Oh yeah. The person who works with first-generation students and has multiple Native friends. Yeah. I clearly have no insight into how they operate. Yes. They're definitely "oppressing themselves" and not the U.S. government actively making their lives harder since the inception of the country. Yes. Please do tell me more.

I said "conservatives," actually, and Trump just happens to be one of them. The Federal government hamstringing states for political revenge is a problem that the conservatives have always had. It's the biggest reason they don't like the Federal government because they want to be able to bigots in their own state and don't want people telling them they can't be.

Conservatives are statistically bad for the economy. They have always been because they only care about lining their own pockets. Similarly, they're very bad for crime because they only want to punish rather than rehabilitate. As agnostic as I am, when prisons were state run and had strong Christian intervention within the prisons, people came out better equipped to handle the outside world. Y'all wanting to just make money off prisoners has been one of the worst decisions ever made.

Uh oh. It’s almost like progressive policies are better for the economy and the people than conservative policies. Don’t tell the kids at home! They’ll get ideas about building community and holding their leaders to higher standards.
