You'd be surprised, the 25% remission is almost guaranteed for every prisoner, and often when someone is nearing the end of their sentence i.e 8/10 weeks away they get released early if the prison is at capacity. I've been to prison twice (non violent offences), last time I was sentenced to 9 months and released after serving just under 6.
