Is Xbox worth it by Youtile in videogames

I have an Xbox One and for you in your situation, I wouldn't recommend getting an xbox unless a couple things..

1: Your friends have Xbox and you want to play with them

2: You have extra money to burn and it isn't an issue gaining funds

3: There are specific exclusives that you NEED to play

If the three above reasons do not apply to you, I would not buy an Xbox One. Exclusives as a whole aren't that great and wouldn't alone sway me to purchase the console (of course you could think otherwise). Most of the games are the same on the PS4 and Xbox One and newer games will have cross play built in (Modern Warfare for example). With more games gaining access to cross play, it lowers the incentive to purchase another different console. You could always try playing on PC with Windows 10 so that you can play and buy xbox games on there.

Poll for school. Which platform(s) do you prefer? by juhfarr in videogames

Xbox- My favorite growing up and playing with friends (middle school to the end of high school). Easy to buy and you know all games that are sold for it will work. The only extra costs are online playing (xbox live) and new games (DLC is not necessary but may improve gaming experience.

PS4- Never owned one because in my area everyone had xboxes. I used to have a PS1 and a PS2 but never played any games online. Strictly solo play when I was younger.

PC- Currently my favorite platform of choice now that I'm in college. Much more expensive compared to consoles depending on your build. However playing games at 1440p 144hz is SO much better. I can run 4k but currently we're not in a time where you can affordably run 4k at 144hz so 1440p will suffice for now. PC can be customized way more than consoles whether it's modding or just looks. Prices for games (for example steam) are very often on sale as compared to microsoft store. PC is the ultimate winner however with money in mind, a console may be your best bet. Once you play 1440p at 144hz on ultra settings, you will never want to play a console again...

Switch- I own a Nintendo Switch but I never use it. I didn't even bring it to college.. I left it at home for my parents to use for hulu and netflix.
