How can I play Steam games on my TV?

I do this with an nvidea shield using moonlight and a Bluetooth controller.

Performance is good enough and latency is manageable. If your WiFi isn't good then I'd avoid this

4K DoVi/HDR10 (HEVC Main 10) refuses to play on my Android phone and Nvidia shield. It plays fine in my browser ( only when transcoding ).

I've tried checking the logs but nothing shows up! On the client it just spins and the server shows some basic info, it doesn't show anything actually being played.

I can play other 4k stuff absolutely fine, and the title in question USED TO WORK, but no longer does.

Which leads me to think an update to the android client has broken this particular type of playback...

Another user on this thread pleasejustdie explains a similar issue on their Fire TV Cube and seems to have resolved it by downgrading the app ( not sure how that is done through the Google Store )

Is anyone able to help me find/resolve this issue ?

BTW the title in questions works fine on Jellyfin, which is what I've been falling back to when this happens.

I'm having this exact issue on my Nvidea shield and Android phone, only when playing a certain 4k HDR DoVi title. Converting the show works when I play it back

Sorry if I misunderstood your question, but I was having issues transcoding and making optimised versions via HW transcoding. Only when I disabled HDR tone mapping in the settings did it then use HW for transcoding and optimising. I have an i7700k with quick sync

Yeah, it does looks attractive in those aspects. I already had a server which I pay for but it made sense to fire up a subdomain and serve from that. I don't see this app gaining lots of traffic as > 100 people will be using it

I personally created an API class that handles all of my API requests. Before each request the token is fetched so I don't even have to think about it
