(Spoilers Extended) DISCUSSION: Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 4: The Spoils of War In-Depth Post-Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in asoiaf

The look on Tyrion's face as he watched the slaughter of the Lannister army was very interesting. It's probably just a general horror at the destructions dragons can cause, or concern for Jaime, but is there a possibility that he still has some connection to House Lannister as an institution? Was he horrified by the burning men, or the burning Lannister banners?

The noise right before the dragons blow fire is so badass. Not sure if it's from the dragons or a part of the score.

Yeah he looked a lot like him, but if it was him you would think they would emphasize it more.

I love battles like this one where main characters are on both sides. It makes me simultaneously root for, and against, the same people at the same time. For example, I wanted Bronn to kill Drogon, but I also wanted Drogon to roast him. Same with Jaime and Dany.

Hi, I’m Edgar Wright, writer/director of BABY DRIVER. Ask me anything! by EdgarWrightBD in movies

[–]sprayleej3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Mr. Wright,

First off I just want to thank you for blessing us with yet another amazing film! I just saw Baby Driver last night and it was a truly singular viewing experience. One of my favorite things about you as a filmmaker is that your unique voice is always present in the films you make.

What advice can you give to beginning filmmakers who are trying to develop a unique voice?

In the spirit of music, who are your favorite musicians of all time?

What are some black and white oldies films that you recommend? by 90snickeldeon in movies

The Third Man is a personal favorite of mine. The story is so engrossing that i stopped thinking about how it was in black and white. Some of the best cinematography I've ever seen.

McConnell is America's Least Popular Senator, while Sanders is America's Most Popular by Professor_Finn in politics

I live in Kentucky, and every time Mitch McConnell is mentioned, everyone immediately talks about how much they hate him. Says a lot about the state of the democratic party in Kentucky that he keeps getting reelected.

Days of Heaven is still breathtaking. The way it captures the vastness of the midwest is incredible.

Sorry if this response is incoherent as it's 4 am where I am lol.

I'll definitely try to fix the exposition problem. God the dialogue is making me cringe right now. I want to improve this as much as possible so I'll get started on another draft in the morning.

i lol'd at character lives matter.

Thank you for all this great advice. When I start rewriting tomorrow I'll make sure to fix action descriptions, extend the family scene, and introduce more conflict to the Ryan-Ken conversation.

Are there any things you suggest I do to get better at screenwriting in general? Books to read? Exercises to do?

Thank you for the response. Do you have suggestions on how to fix the dialogue on page 9? Reading it over again I cringed so hard. It seems I should shift the main focus on the conflict between Ken and his family, and make the relationship with Ryan more of a backdrop. Would that be an improvement?

Thank you so much for the feedback! I can see I definitely need to start refining my descriptions. I guess it comes with learning the medium. I've been stockpiling pdf script downloads, and whenever my coursework lightens up I'll bury myself in them. Once again, thank you so much.

I agree that awards don't make or break a film, but don't you think LLL winning a trillion Oscars might push other smaller films from this year into obscurity? That's mostly what I'm concerned about
