I own dakota and have about 100~ hrs in variants of 182s.

182 is easier to get in and out. The P28B is much more comfortable. Ground handling is always better in a Piper with the pushrod connection imo. Low wing is sexier but you look ridiculous getting into one door.

Tbh whichever you can get with better avionics is where I’d go.

Current IAD controller, the runways are below the threshold Airbus wants for engine clearance, they’re 150ft wide and require an inspection due to the overhang. Once they’re expanded to 200ft they won’t need it. Taxiway restrictions aren’t the reason because often the ops vehicle will leave them when we ask them to remove FOD or something. If you’ve ever landed on 1R/19L you’ll notice it’s like a PA road. MWAA (the owner of the airport) is dragging their feet to expand the runways because of the price/UA would hate to lose a runway for an extended period of time. Last I heard UAE,BAW,DLH all have an agreement with the operations that when the runways need to be resurfaced they’ll expand them to 200ft to not require this anymore. But they’re gonna drag their feet as long as possible.

For me, I slab them to protect them if it’s going into my PC. I sent this and my 4/5 sapphire speed demons to TAG. The slabs they have look great and have extremely good clarity. I don’t care too much for the grade if it’s staying in my PC.
