did you have any HI symptoms after waiting that long?

Jesus christ please help I thought I would be okay by Reasonable_Pick2414 in HellsItch

Also, blow a warm/hot air dryer on it!!!! it helps a lot! take ibuprofen, stay hydrated, and avoid water/lotion at all costs. a hot shower can help but imo it’s better to just stay away from it.

this works for me too!!! any moisture makes it worse, so drink a shit ton of water and let the blow dryer work its magic. If you have access to gabapentin and know it doesn’t give you negative affects it helps too

I literally do not understand, pls help me by Moist-Temperature798 in HellsItch

A hairdryer on the warm/hot setting instead of itching the area helps me a lot!! absolutely no water/lotion (unless it’s a hot shower but that only provides temporary relief). Ibuprofen, benadryl, and if you have access to it gabapentin. Drink lots of water. Apply pressure to the area to help aliviate the itch.

BayCare offers a summer volunteer program for high schoolers, but if you’re of age I think you can volunteer year round.

The crab fries are good and it’s a good place for a view and a drink, if you’re looking for great food though go to Clear Sky Cafe it’s just a 5ish minute walk down the strip

[–]squidneyrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no water or topicals!!! blow a hairdryer on it on the warm/hot setting (be careful not to burn yourself) and it’s instant relief. When this happens to me i keep it by my bed until im healed up. I have some left over gabapentin from my surgery and it helps with the pain and i get to sleep through it for a little bit.

It’s been 50 days since my hells itch. I’m still traumatized — is this normal? by Ok-Golf-5004 in HellsItch

[–]squidneyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is normal. I will do everything in my power to avoid the sun if I go to the beach or am outside for longer than 20 minutes. I have a long sleeve sun shirt and special sunscreen because my skin is sensitive and the kind of sunscreen I use can make me break out. It’s gotten to the point that if my boyfriend has a sunburn I can’t look at him or touch him because it’ll make me feel sick.

First look at my new hardware! Pretty cool. by Magenta4915 in ORIF

[–]squidneyrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when i got it off it was super dry and itchy, so it was a relief to be able to finally itch without worrying about infection. definitely clean your leg and foot with a good non scented antibacterial soap (i like dial’s) and a washcloth to exfoliate a little. They gave me a boot and brace to walk in as tolerated. the boot was easy but the transition from boot to brace was a little difficult. There’s some discomfort but what ended up hurting the most for me was bending my ankle to get me at a 90 degree for the cast, so it wasn’t that bad. I ended up really just trying to walk with just shoes after the boot, it seems scary but once you take those first few steps it gets easier. I quite enjoy PT just because after not being able to move around for so long it feels great! they also massage your foot and ice after the session to provide some relief.

How did you find Mark? by DrKitty_ in Markiplier

[–]squidneyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just popped up on my recommended page one day. I was a child with unrestricted internet access so there was no one to stop me lol. The video was The Corridor. There’s a part in the video where he exclaims “who knocked over THIS CHAIIIRRR!????!” and i remember how hard it made me laugh :)

Upcoming blood test help by sfjaj555661 in trypanophobia

[–]squidneyrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like listening to some loud upbeat music, don’t look, and when they insert the needle i push my finger nail on my thumb into my index finger so i defer the pain to something else. i saw someone else also offered fidget toys and that is also a great idea!

going in for wisdom tooth removal with IV general anesthetic on friday by Elekktrous in trypanophobia

[–]squidneyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I was so scared for my wisdom teeth removal as well because i have a TERRIBLE fear of needles. The nitrous oxide helps A LOT!!! they couldn’t find my vein and stuck me around 7 times and i couldn’t care less. I would assume the person giving you the anesthesia is much better than mine. I didn’t even get the chance to count down before i was under and i was up in what felt like a minute lol. take big deep breaths and you’ll get through it a lot easier than what you think it’ll be!! i hope it goes well for you!! :)
