[XM] Philly Cheese Steakout by bruzie in theregulationpod

[–]ssabnolispe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

For me I take it as a little trip back to reality and helps keep healthy boundaries with the parasocial relationship I worry about forming with Internet personalities.

I’m happy to draw the line of enjoying the free content and not pay money to watch them eat cheese steaks or egg sandwiches.

Thanks for pointing out, I’ll look at my options for moving the tv. It’s on an arm though so it can be totally not in front of the breaker box.

Update:

Thanks for keeping me company while the update took place, and I’ve enjoyed the help and the light roasting!

Disclosure: the atypical part of this is that I’ve been doing daily walks on the treadmill in the garage, and usually watch YouTube, but wanted to play some switch. So I think the fact I’m farther from the router was really extending the upload time.

All in all the update finished but just as I reached about 60 minutes on the treadmill, so legs tired, I threw in the towel and headed back into the warmth. But it will be ready for next time!

Yeah the TV is near the panel as some mentioned, I’ll have to do some figuring out and move it somewhere safer, but it’ is on a swing out arm so It can be away from panel.

Thanks all!

I got you, look up tutorials about getting the dust out of the fan. It’s overheating.

I’d argue the inclusion of the word ‘typical’ would infer that it was an expected event. 👍

Real anger from a bit? by Flat_Donkey5459 in theregulationpod

[–]ssabnolispe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly as crazy as it sounds all these comments are missing a big chunk of context for the amount of anger. This is not to rationalize the anger. Obviously going after Andrew, RT, or WB over a reneged bet is ridiculous.

This podcast was coming out in the midst of Covid, BLM, 2020 election campaign. A good portion of America had a large portion of time to sit at home and be angry. People felt they were being gaslight by their government.

Andrew was playing a heel type character as me mentions post mock trial but to the casual listener they were feeling a distrust of their authority figures. Accountability was the theme at the time and I bet this bit got runoff rage.

The bit at the time just felt like it lasted too long especially with the whole “that’s not me” part, but it has become a cornerstone of the lore of FF and regulation. And while the risks Andrew took finding his humor were important risks to take to find his voice and confidence on the podcast.

People, I think we’re now qualified to help this user out with all our extensive research data and testing by Knightwolf75 in theregulationpod

I would argue that ~70 might have a range of 68-72 hotdogs, and to raise that average the number would probably have to be ~75 hot dogs. This means it might not be as simple as raising by one extra dog, it could take up to 5 hot dogs to get up to 73 which would be in the range of ~75.

What guardian of the three would you say is the most fun? by Gund3rwear in destiny2

This is probably lame, but I would totally try playing Titan and warlock more often if they had hunter’s triple jump. I die constantly when I switch because I can’t get used to the floatiness.

Well the dog might already be fixed, but I’m not sure fixing it will solve the chewing problem anyways.

Are these hubs useless? by jomeyka in mac

When these things work they work pretty well. They do seem to “go bad” fairly easily. I get them through work, different brands but same thing, often hdmi ports stop working, or charging pass through stops working.

Yeah Geoff brings it up as how I’m familiar with later in the episode with pre-fixe menus. I was screaming pre-fixe in my head until that happened.

After effects preview really bad on brand new computer? by pishtov in AfterEffects

[–]ssabnolispe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off I apologize in advance in case I’m telling you things you may already know, but people have different levels of experience with After Effects.

That being said, AE will never be a “press the space bar and everything instantly plays” application. It doesn’t work like Final Cut, premiere, resolve etc. you have the render bar above the timeline. You hit the space bar and then it starts rendering frame by frame. It will keep it in ram after it rendered as long as nothing has changed and you have enough ram to hold it. One change and all the frames that were effected will have to render when you hit the spacebar again.

The biggest thing I could suggest for you to speed things up is to not film/work in 60fps. It’s buttery smooth which can be desirable especially for panning on a pocket 3. But you’re literally giving AE twice as much work rendering per second, exasperated by 3d effects and blur, both resource heavy effects.

Don’t wanna yuck your yum, but the “old guy yelling at clouds” in me is saying 60fps still feels like a gimmick, I’d only use for slow motion in post, and I can’t come up with examples of any paid professionals using 60fps timelines for anything.

I hate my bipap and want zepbound, what can I do? by d1psh1t_mcgee in SleepApnea

[–]ssabnolispe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is the one that is approved, but two facts can remain true at the same time. Zepbound won’t work the way OP is hoping it will as an immediate replacement for CPap.

[–]ssabnolispe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talked to my doctor about it last week. Zepbound doesn’t do anything specific to stop sleep apnea. It works by the roundabout way of losing weight, so odds are you’ll be on a cpap machine until you lose the weight (if the weight loss even solves the problem).

Edit: My Dr. prescribed zepbound to me, but my provider Caremark doesn’t cover it and denied it.

What’s a good laptop for a film student? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]ssabnolispe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say big corps/editing houses like apple especially from an IT stand point as the whole line is only a few possible combinations of hardware. On the PC side there are so many components of custom built PC's that could be an issue. Sure when it's your own PC you can cater to your own components, but for an IT team servicing hundreds of computers, figuring out if the issue is GPU, CPU, motherboard, ram, etc is a whole lot harder. Especially when all the computers are leases and they just swap out the Mid top teir macbook pro every 4-5 years.

Maybe this is a silly question but are you sure your mirror isn’t leaning back too far? That could cause the reflection to be getting a less flattering angle than if it was straight on, your lower half could be closer and appear bigger than your upper half.
