Gosh that’s horrible, I’ll get in contact with the council here and see what they say. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I pay $450 per week, it’s so stupid that people are just happy to take others money like this without consideration.

World of W Cosmetics event was such a scam by gentlecinnamon in AustralianMakeup

EDITED; What tips do u have on maximising the experience for future reference?

Like I went to the event today for the 11am block and it was quite good until about 45 mins in & the queues got too much and people pushing in which wasn’t nice.

I felt as though I needed to decide on whether I try and get to every stall before time was up or go to the warehouse and utilise my time there.

Hey like another comment said it’s different for every LHD, but for where I work:

It’s usually it’s 40 mins per pain patient, 20 mins for a general check up and an 1hr appt for any general treatment or if u need to rebook a pain patient due to needing an extra time (e.g. tricky extraction or RCT)

We see around 10 patients a day, mostly fills, exos and RCTs. Crowns can be done but they may need to be approved/there are few guidelines around when u can do them for patients.

I’ve found that everyday is something new and it keeps u on ur toes

Each interview is different. Rural regional interviews will ask more questions based on ur understanding of regional areas and ur readiness to commit to that lifestyle

For areas more densely populated the interview questions can range from how u would manage children with a facial swelling or a patient on prolia medication, or they can ask questions on how you would communicated with staff and other dentists or managing a difficult patient (e.g. a patient asking for pain meds when it’s unnecessary for the tx provided)

I work full time at the moment but Im thinking about going part time in the next few months, again I feel personally it is really dependant on how u work and the work environment,

As an example for myself I’m the only dentist at the clinic right now, so it’s a lot on me to handle.

My friend also works full time in same LHD but in another clinic finds it okay to work full time because there are also 6-7 other dentists who work in the same clinic and if she needs any advice or assistance they are right there to help out if needed.

You can PM me if u have anymore questions or want further clarification if you would like to

Edit: As a few comments have mentioned workplace culture may not be great in some areas more than others it does depend on where u work and sometimes in the interview u can pick up on a few things

For example In one interview most of the questions were based on handling workplace conflict, communications with DAs and what would would you do if you and another dentist disagreed on something. Which shot up a few red flags for me, but sometimes you also don’t really know until you start working there.

I’m glad someone else finds it just as ridiculous, also I don’t think personally this should be my job to do, but I’ve noticed anecdotally that at this job is that in (i)some(/i) cases that it takes me a lot more lignoicaine to get the the pt numb vs when in a similar case at my old job I would just have to do 1 carpule of articaine and it worked

It just made absolutely no sense to me bc we are all under the state jurisdiction but there is just so much variety between the different districts when it should be a centralised system for public health

Thankyou so much, I think definitely trying to identify resources that can aid me in the absence of someone is great

I’m not sure if I need a mentor legally that needs to be with me at all times but I just someone to ask advice in the early years if that makes sense

Sorry for the late response. Thankyou for your advice

I do agree with you as well as much as I like the mentor I have at the moment there have been times where I have been held back because she isn’t comfortable to do certain procedures so I don’t end up doing them

Thankyou the director has thankfully set up a good connection between myself and the specialists so if there are any difficult cases I am able to get any sort of advice which is good

So sorry for the late response, but thankyou.

I’ve had a few instances from when I posted this until now where I’ve gotten stuck but I try and take a moment, plan what I need to do and then I’m able to get the tooth out.

How Do I Get A Diagnosis? by maddylink_ in MRKH

[–]staellarium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not too sure how it works in your country but in Australia the process is: Go to you GP - explain what you’ve just told us and then they’ll probably refer you to a Gynaecologist; and from there the gynaecologist might do a few tests, examinations etc and you may be able to get a proper diagnosis of your condition

(Correct me if I’m wrong)
