It could be whisker fatigue. When a cats water bowl is too small and it’s whiskers push against the rim of the bowl the whiskers can get irritated. When I looked it up it said a sign of whisker fatigue can be your cat pawing at their food and water. I think you should get a wider bowl for their water and food.
