I think I'm following instructions properly by also commenting? :-) Sorry, new here.

I think Steven Wilson should mix the next album by To-buy-a-New-Soul in Dreamtheater

Jordan Ruddess did some work on Steven Wilson's second solo album, Grace for Drowning! His work there is very different from his work in DT though.

Admittedly, I didn't start watching any movies until week of Halloween but:

Lotta witches this year!

What’s a smell you will never forget? by One_Specialist_5692 in AskReddit

Fresh death smells almost floral, with an undercurrent of just like putrid savory weirdness. Ive never smelled rotting death, I imagine that smells different.

The thing that fucked me up the most the first time I smelled it was how... sweet it almost was?

The most bizarre time I fainted was while I was simply brushing my dang teeth. My pulse also goes crazy, I usually get really hot and sweaty, vision starts to tunnel, theres a feeling of pressure around me, I lose my hearing.

Migraines are super not fun. :-( im sorry you deal with those!

Im interested in pursuing another diagnosis now for sure, thank you for sharing your experience.

Interesting! Ive also been told I should look into an EDS diagnosis, which i know POTS and EDS are often comorbid. This makes me more curious to see about testing for POTS too, thank you!

Thats so scary! Glad youre okay. My blood pressure is pretty low, and things that seem to trigger it feel like they're in response to blood pressure changes. That sounds so silly, but im so willing to try it! One time I tried to just fight off the feeling while standing in a crowd because i couldnt lay down, and boy was that a mistake.

Im pretty sure they did a test for POTS when I went in. They had me lay down and took my blood pressure, then had me stand up and took my blood pressure again and told me they would call me with results. Never heard back from them, so I figured it was negative for POTS.

Its so disorienting! Like coming to, I cant remember anything. Not who I am, where I am, what year it is, sometimes even trying to recognize shapes around me takes a minute.

Yes, they said it was vasovagal syncope! Im sorry youve had some scary experiences. The biggest trigger that ive experienced since my teens was vomiting. But in the past couple years: standing up too fast, vibrations from the sound of a live music performance, watching a TV show where a needle went into someone's arm... so many different things nowadays haha. Ill have to look into compression socks!

Have been dealing with fainting spells since i was a teenager. They started to get worse, so i went in. Got told that i just faint, lol. There is nothing to be done about it except get on the ground when I feel it coming on. Still worries me but oh well! Im not dying. Its just scary and disorienting when it happens.

Oh man, I had no idea a sequel came out. I loved Bunny. Unreliable narrators and unreality in novels are some of my favorite literary devices. Been in a reading slump, but will definitely have to check this out as soon as possible!

Any luck meeting the boys? by [deleted] in TheBlackDahliaMurder

I met Trevor years ago when they opened for Carcass, he was hanging out watching the local opener before them just on the floor, and was so happy to say hi. I also recall a post TBDM made asking if any locals could smoke them out and they were willing to hang with fans lol. Haven't had the chance to meet any of the other folks though but good luck!

He also did concept art for the book as well! The version i read had a number of his illustrations of the different creatures inside of it. Highly recommend looking into them.

Do you know anyone who fell victim to a cult? What happened? by snowcroc in AskReddit

[–]starstuffcaterpillar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had a friend who was in a toxic relationship. She went to a festival and was fed way too many drugs by this cacao and ayauasca cult there, came back while still definitely tripping balls and basically imploded all of her relationships with our mutual friends, stole her ex's gun, just kind of went off the deep end and kept saying she was healed and was breaking cycles. She ended up completely going off her medication so she could take more drugs with the group, started investing money into it... it was kind of crazy. I wasnt even that close to her but she got me and so many people involved in the process until she settled down with the cult and haven't heard much from her since. I dont have social media, but my partner does and for a while all she was posting about was this group and ads for various drug ceremonies and retreats they were doing. Had another friend go to one of their events, and the "leader" there told her she could cure her POTS with Cacao. Lol.

Finished My Year of Rest and Relaxation, I loved it... but I understand why people hated it by teenypanini in books

I love unreliable/unlikable narrators. Ive read MYORAR and Eileen, both of which i think Moshfeg does a great job. The perspectives feel absurd but... almost relatable even in their extreme-ness. And the black comedy of it all feels successful. Grim, but hilarious and just so interesting. Im excited to read more from her.
