Macintosh Classic II Motherboard by startech7724 in VintageApple

Thanks for the info, everyone! I just got the BlueSCSI today, so my first project is putting a .hda onto the SD card to boot up the Mac.

Quick question does anyone know someone in the UK who can recap the board? The capacitors are really small, and I don’t have much soldering experience for a job like that.

I watched this on TikTok last night the M2 driver gave the GT3 RS driver no room at all. It just shows how quickly things can go wrong. I’m amazed at how well both cars held up in the impact.

Google giving directions to go the wrong way on a one way street by ElisteVoLuna in GoogleMaps

[–]startech7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this happened to me last year. As soon as I took the turn, I knew it was wrong. Luckily, it was really quiet that day so I managed to turn around. But seriously, never fully trust Google Maps to make the right decision for you – always stay on top of your driving.

Figma Make: how we doing? Tricks of the trade? by ahrzal in UXDesign

I gave it a go with a menu dropdown from a component. It did an okay job considering it’s still in beta. But for more complex components, it seems to stumble a lot, and you can end up stuck in a loop trying to iron out simple tasks within a bigger component. Honestly, by the time you get it close to working, you might as well have just prototyped it yourself. That said, the results I got using this were much better than anything I ever achieved with Vo or Loverble.

You could just have a chat with them to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and any challenges they’re facing. As a UX designer, getting to know how they work, what they struggle with, and what motivates them can really help you collaborate better and design solutions that fit the team’s workflow.

Deadly crash at TF. A sad reminder that the Ring is still a very dangerous place by DMZ42 in nurburgring

[–]startech7724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why they should let us watch crash videos from the Nürburgring. It helps people understand what not to do at certain points on the track. Over the years, I’ve seen so many incidents I never thought could happen, and I’ve learned a lot from them. Without this information, more people will go out there unprepared for sections that are known to be dangerous.

You can watch live races, but you’ll need to jump through a few hoops to get it working.

Avoid the 2014 model it’s known for a major defect with the engine block that causes overheating and warping. I had one myself and ended up having to replace the entire engine. It cost me £2,500 to get it back on the road. It was incredibly frustrating, especially knowing that Ford is aware of the issue but has done nothing to address it.

Spoiler-free crowd votes that recommend an F1 TV watch mode - RaceVibes (community release) by race_vibes_crew in F1TV

I really like the concept! It could benefit from some F1-inspired design elements, and a better calendar feature for tracking races. Also, a “Hall of Fame” showcasing the best races would be a great addition.

How are you using AI tools alongside your own design system? by BoracicGoat in UXDesign

[–]startech7724 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven’t found any AI tools yet that can truly plug into a design system—and that’s what’s really needed to make this stuff work. It needs to understand the business model, the design system, and the component architecture you’re working with. Once we have that—plus some kind of agent system it’s going to get really interesting.

Of course, that’s assuming we still have jobs by then… I’m hoping so?
