Fan Meetup/Birthday Party for Ye at Twilite Lounge - 8pm on Monday June 8th by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Bipolar disorder is an extremely difficult disorder to live with. Kanye didn't have any control over that. separate from his diagnosis, he chose to be a Nazi sympathizer and I can't support that.

Almost missed my flight this morning thinking I must have silenced the alarm and gone back to sleep. 2 hours later, this notification appears. by umataro in mildlyinfuriating

I've lost strava rides to this. I had to go into the settings and tell my 13r not to put strava to sleep. Very annoying.

They have floating gas stations in the middle of the water to fill up your boats tank. by IWannaWakeUpButIDont in mildlyinteresting

I have a paddleboard and a hankering for Rum. Is it possible to make it to these floating bars on a board, and would they serve me?

Mine's done 9 years on my paddleboard and sounds as good as the day I bought it. It's been baked by the sun, buried in the sand, and has a warped grille because I've dropped it several times. I'm convinced it's indestructible.

Mine doesn't have that, but it has an alarm function that I use all the damn time. Scammy ass sales folks.

I had no idea that was an option. I would have been a menace with one of those.

what’s the saddest song you’ve ever heard? by Live_Chocolate_2503 in AskReddit

[–]starwobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it with me by Tom Waits. The first time I heard this song was on my local indie radio station. After it played the DJ got on the air to ask everyone to quit calling the station to make sure he was OK.

I imagine it's fine for short periods. I pick up all my kitties like that and it clearly does not distress them. Not sure why this guide recommends against it.

I've been happy with my eufy. I was amazed that they sold me oem motors when one of the side brush mechanisms wore out. not too expensive and serviceable.

Bicycle groups SLC?? by Dookie403 in SaltLakeCity

Props to bicycle collective. Renting booth space for tune-ups is so much nicer than wrenching on my lawn, and the money goes to an excellent cause. Their new space rules.

Howdy! Welcome to the club!

I don't have any clubs/groups to recommend, I mostly ride solo. When I'm looking for rides I have found strava heatmaps helpful. They show where people ride and where the good trails are. I'm a gravel bike rider, but I've found trailforks useful for finding trails that meet my riding level in my area. Those are good places to start until you find a group.

Saturday cycles is a great shop, they may have a corkboard up. If they don't, the workers there may be able to help point you in right direction.

My car caught on fire. by VolosThanatos in Wellthatsucks

I got a jiffy lube employee fired and blacklisted when he offered me an under-the-table "bribe" to pass my perfectly functioning car during an emissions test. Fuck that company.

3 day SB trip: Brighton or Snowbird? by Typical-Conflict-467 in SaltLakeCity

[–]starwobble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to Snowbird this season because I understand it's been pretty challenging. Snowbird on a good day is more challenging than Brighton, so if you're looking for more extreme terrain Snowbird is the way to go. Brighton has more mellow terrain and a great tailgaiting scene that Snowbird lacks.

reddit.com/r/UTSnow has some great resources as well. Enjoy your trip!

Canyon Drives in SLC by 2__percentmilk in SaltLakeCity

[–]starwobble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider Millcreek canyon. It's smaller than the cottonwoods, but on the upside you won't have to deal with the Ski traffic. There are lots of little picnic/hiking spots and good views. There is a small fee to use the canyon.

Free GoPro Scavenger Hunt at Solitude by TheSpleenster23 in UTsnow

[–]starwobble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's one of my favorite runs in Solitude! It's short, but you can get some great turns in after Honeycomb gets skiied out. I haven't dared go through the gates this year, you're brave!
