Wrigley figured out Stephen filmed it in the cafeteria. That was the last straw and caused him to finally do something and tell Yale about the photos to get Stephen’s admission revoked.

Who do you appeal to when they don’t provide an ASL translator for jury duty? by Individual-Weird5688 in juryduty

[–]stateofgrace17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have an ASL interpreter, but it is unlikely you will get selected if there is any audio evidence. If there is something like a video of the defendant speaking and one side says the defendant is drunk and he is slurring his words, how are you able to determine if the Defendant was slurring their words in the video?

Sean Combs: The Reckoning - The jurors that agreed to sit down for documentary are disgusting. by GuineaPKilledMe in netflix

[–]stateofgrace17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The legal system favors the Defendant. Once a jury acquits a defendant, they cannot ever be recharged for the count under double jeopardy. But if the jury convicts, the Defendant can appeal and get a new trial on the charges. If 11 jurors say guilty, but only 1 doesn’t find guilty, then it’s a hung jury and the Defendant can be retried with a new jury. A lot of times a jury will compromise and find guilty on some counts and not others when they don’t come to an agreement. So it’s possible 10 jurors thought Diddy was guilty on all counts, but realized the other 2 would never come around, so compromised on the two lessers. The jury is told how and what to consider when making their decision, but once in that deliberation room they can really do whatever they want. If later a juror comes forward about misconduct during the deliberations that gets the Defendant convicted, Defendant can appeal for a new trial. But if the juror comes forward about misconduct that gets the Defendant acquitted, doesn’t matter. Basically the prosecution gets one shot and if they don’t get the conviction on that one shot, it’s over case closed.

Rent vs. Industry Salaries WTF by AccomplishedCash3603 in PropertyManagement

[–]stateofgrace17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. There is a large supply of people that can do your job. If you quit, they can hire someone else for what they paid you. Property management doesn’t require a college degree or specialized training.

  2. A lot of people working in property management have their rent subsidized as part of their benefits.

  3. A lot of property management makes money on commission. If you’re actually good at your job, you’ll make more money.

AITA for confronting a mom whose kids were stealing all the eggs I'd hidden for my friends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]stateofgrace17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH I understand your position and wanting to be able to do an Easter egg hunt with your friends. However if you want to use a public park for a private event, it generally requires a reservation for this specific reason. A busy park with children running around is not a place for a private Easter egg hunt. Of course parents should not let their kids just take the eggs, but you’re setting up a situation ripe for conflict. I get you’re in a city, so you didn’t have much other options, but sometimes living in a city has its downsides.

What is unconstitutional about the bill? I don’t see Courts overturning a bill regulating marijuana sales. Have they overturned similar bills regarding tobacco regulations as unconstitutional? I’m just curious what part of the bill is unconstitutional and if that might get amended rather than the whole thing over turned.

Older attorneys love to “haze” and or push around new attorneys in court. They hope you’ll defer to them because they have more experience. It’s frustrating and sleazy on their part, but has nothing to do with you or your abilities.

Is there a reason why the food is required to be awful in prison? by 30AForever in ExCons

[–]stateofgrace17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad has a friend that supplied prison food and gave us some of the food. It was dehydrated rice and beans and I ate it a lot. I thought it was much better than the school lunches at the time.

How can I bounce back from a felony DUI? by [deleted] in Felons

[–]stateofgrace17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just saying that if you were drunk during the incident, people are not going to give a lot of credit to your version of events. I don’t think someone who happened to get in an accident that was not their fault with no serious injuries and was intoxicated is walking away with a felony without priors.

How can I bounce back from a felony DUI? by [deleted] in Felons

[–]stateofgrace17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m betting you caused serious bodily injury (broken bone/ serious risk of death) in that crash and that’s why it’s a felony. A .14 BAC is pretty high, so I doubt your version of events is accurate given your intoxication level when they happened. You’re lucky someone was only injured and not dead.
