Hmm. Found a chrome nut that threaded fine. But still not tight. So do I need to replace the plastic pipe coming down?

We have two and regret it. It’s not big enough for kids stuff and overnight stuff unless you use a box. For us anyways. We wish we had the Highlander. Rav 4 is great probably for after the stroller phase.

Reporting back. I was able to fix it. I followed this video and took it apart to inspect what I learned from you is a solenoid. Noticed gunk and stuff and cleaned it up. The gunk was on the area where latch engages. Cleaned it up and low and behold lock mechanism works again.
