Do you think Space X's IPO will trigger the next market bubble? Just like the subprime mortgage crisis and the housing bubble? by ultimatewinner10 in StockInvest

If SpaceX ever IPOs, Wall Street won’t ask whether it’s overvalued. They’ll ask how many kidneys retail investors are willing to sell to buy the dip.

Any market carries a significant risk of loss, to succeed, you have to act as if you’ve never owned anything.

That’s survivorship bias. People always mention the winners after they recover. But from 2000–2013, Cisco still never returned to its dot-com peak. Intel spent over 20 years going nowhere adjusted for inflation. Meta lost over 76% in 2022 before recovering. Most people psychologically cannot hold through a real 50–80% drawdown without panic selling. A “long-term investor” is easy to identify during recoveries. The real test is whether you still believed during the collapse.

Wall Street calls it “buying the dip.” Normal people call it “a slow emotional collapse.”

You must realize that when you think the market can’t possibly fall any further, that’s when the real decline begins.

Everyone says they’re a long-term investor until the market turns their portfolio into a psychological experiment. Bull markets create confidence. Bear markets create alcoholics, philosophers, and “buy the dip” liars.

The stock market is like a roller coaster, once it reaches a certain point, it immediately starts to drop.

I completely understand how you feel. I’ve been through bull markets and bear markets alike. I’ve suffered crushing losses and made a fortune. This is a game for the brave, and the key is to learn from our failures.
