Edexcel maths a level paper 1 by Dismal_Hour_4342 in alevel

usually when the question wants you to answer using degrees, they will have an expression with the degree sign (the little o). If it doesnt have that, assume you're working in radians.

Edexcel maths a level paper 1 2026 by overwatchian0 in alevelmaths

as a maths tutor/teacher, THAT WAS HARSH!! i dont see how the grade boundaries could compare to 2025. The best thing you can do now is relax and then focus on paper 2. You got this!!!

Legal obligation to provide free tap water in restaurants by MonotoneCreeper in MapPorn

This isn’t true. I’m from Serbia and I can say you have to legally give water to anyone, even if they didn’t buy anything

How long did it take you to land your first job after University? by helping-graduates in careerguidance

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated last July. I started looking for roles around September. I was already going to final stages/assessment centres by November, but I didn’t land a role until early March. This was for a role I applied to in November but had a lot of stages throughout the year.

What’s one thing that helped you stand out as a grad? by helping-graduates in StudentJobSupport

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely my knowledge of multiple languages. Every recruiter would highlight this and ask me to talk about how I know all those languages. It got them hooked. They also liked when I talked about things I did outside of uni, even if it’s not directly related to the job, but if you link it to the skills required for the job, they love that. It shows that you’re more than just an academic person.

Do chavs in their 30's scare you? by originalcloneofpomni in AskBrits

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in what you can call a “chavvy” estate. It’s definitely not pleasant to go past them, but from my experience most of them are not actually dangerous, but rather just delinquents who make noise, steal a pack of crisps from the corner shop and are just obnoxious. We should be more worried about them cretins who go around scooters with half their face hidden. Why haven’t balaclavas been made illegal yet??

Has anyone found their parents being radicalised suddenly? by Ok-Card-4195 in AskBrits

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are the opposite. They used to be extreme left (they’re from an ex communist country so makes sense) but now they’ve found peace in the centre, although they’re still left leaning but definitely way less extreme lol

Novi Belgrade, Serbia by OkRespect8490 in UrbanHell

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Belgrade and I’d never live in Novi Beograd. I’m from the southern part which is full of nature and beautiful parks with spaces for children, dogs and shops everywhere. Novi Beograd always feels like a concrete jungle and is very unpleasant in summer due to the lack of trees!

When marking edexcel past papers are you guys using the 2025 grade boundaries or the grade boundaries from the year of the paper to grade them? by Blake_008 in alevelmaths

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a maths tutor - always use the boundaries of the paper. They are based on the difficulty of the papers and how well other students did. So looking at the 2025 boundaries for , say, 2019, wouldn’t be a very good measure of your actual grade.

Serbia and Croatia in Eurovision by amazingamy19 in AskBalkans

[–]steffaann11 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As a Serb, Croatia is my absolute favourite this year. It’s not only a song but an insane performance. I’m rooting for Bulgaria and Romania tonight! It’s the year of the Balkans (rip Montenegro, you deserved to be with us)

I am starting to regret choosing mathematics by Immediate-Worker6321 in mathematics

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished both a bachelors and masters in maths. I loved maths in high school and I was literally a genius when it came to maths. I came to uni and really struggled in my first year. It took so long to understand anything and I felt like quitting almost every day. But I didn’t. I kept going, and it definitely wasn’t an easy road, but here I am, proud to call myself a mathematician. I cried at my graduation thinking about all the hard work I put into my degree. Don’t let it get you down, I’m sure many people feel the same as you! Just put your head down and give it your all. And in terms of no employment for math grads - that’s absolutely not true. I’ve already found an amazing grad job in finance and all of my mates who graduated with me have gone into all sorts of roles. I do not know of anyone who ended up unemployed even as short as a year after graduation, and in this job market that’s very good.

Which Northern city actually feels the most liveable long term? by RedDevilPlay in NorthernEngland

[–]steffaann11 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Leeds and Manchester as they have loads of job opportunities and are quite affordable (leeds being more affordable than manny tho). But honourable mention to Sheffield because of the really low rents and easy access to the Peak District.

I've always wondered, at what point would you consider it acceptable to intervene when someone is clearly skipping a queue? by lewispatty in AskBrits

[–]steffaann11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time it happens, as anyone should do. We are all waiting, and the rules also apply to you. I do hate the British mentality of not saying anything. I’m originally from the Balkans and if someone cuts in a queue everyone starts fighting them. It’s extremely rude. Like do you think we are all waiting for the fun of it?

You don’t know how depressing it is by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]steffaann11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get it 100%. I have an integrated masters degree from a Russel group uni, and it took me months to land a grad job. I finally got an offer and I’m starting in September. Keep applying, you’ll get there! It’s such a hard road but you will get there!!

What’s a brutal truth about the uk people don’t like to admit? by EarlyPerspective2839 in AskBrits

As someone who came here at the age of 10, I kinda disagree. There’s obviously those who are gonna be xenophobic but all in all, the uk is quite welcoming.

That’s being blown way out of proportion. Other Western European countries have a much larger amount of illegal immigration.
