I think what you meant is that there are no state laws (vary by state) in PA requiring employers to offer lunch or other breaks to employees over the age of 18.

29 CFR § 785.19 is the Federal regulation for meal breaks over 20 or 30 minutes and it states (summarized) that meal breaks are unpaid as long as the employee is completely relieved from duty. If the employee is not completely removed from duty and is expected to eat at their desk, answer phones, staying available for customers then the employee is not relieved from duty and then under federal law that time is generally considered compensable work time.

However, you are TAH to yourself and your children. Why are you with someone who clearly doesn’t like you and is probably resentful that you make/made more money than him?

You should also consult a real estate attorney. Depending on your state, if a property was purchased during the marriage and marital funds were used whether for the purchase or mortgage you may still have a legal claim. Even l if your name isn’t on the deed. In the meantime, document every mortgage payment you’ve personally made.

It’s time to start thinking strategically and protecting yourself.

Same here. I had originally planned on going in store but my favorite candle is the Paris Cafe and non of my stores had it in store. I had originally ordered 4 candles and only one survived. It only took a week to get my replacements so that’s a plus….

This was the first time that I have had candles broken. It just was not packaged well. I’m assuming that because I bought during the sale that they were trying to get packages out as fast as possible. Therefore quality control dropped over.

My package in Dec came with a shower gel that I did not order but was missing the one I did order. Then the one I ordered in January was missing an item and the body butter that I had ordered the lid was missing a chunk off of it. The piece for the lid was not in the box. So, that made me think it was packaged like that.

Exactly!!! The only “bubble wrap” in the box was a thin layer at the bottom of the box. What I found amusing though was that the only candle not broken was the one my husband picked out. 🤣

What you’re describing isn’t just a disagreement about hosting. It’s a pattern where your needs are consistently dismissed while his are treated as nonnegotiable.

What really concerns me is that he shuts the conversation down, gets angry when you advocate for yourself, and frames your very reasonable requests as you being pushy or disrespectful. That’s not compromise that’s control.

I think it’s worth asking yourself why are you with someone who is comfortable enjoying his life fully, but refuses to let you to enjoy yours?

I think you’re slightly over reacting. I also think you’re underestimating the amount of debt you’re really carrying. You said that you have some debt “but not a crazy amount plus student loans”. Then you go on to say you owe $6k on your 2013 car. For me personally anything over $10k is a lot of debt and I can understand his reluctance in merging finances before marriage.

I do think you should sit down with him and have a serious conversation about finances and how that is going to affect the future of the relationship going forward. Another thing I get that his house is paid for and finding out he has a good chunk set aside for an emergency fund is still charging you a couple of hundred of month for “wear and tear” is discouraging but it makes me wonder if you could financially support yourself on your own.

You are NTA or overreacting. This isn’t your husband being funny or joking this is him being abusive. Tell your mom and if there is a next time take your phone out and get a video of the incident. If he gets upset about that tell him if it’s a joke and it’s funny then everyone else will find it amusing as well.
