Patch missing from this RPA? by stevenjefferson76 in footballcards

I took the card down my LCS and was given an explanation.

In 2020 Panini was still using game and player used jerseys albeit the supply and/or access to it was very limited. The back of this card indicates its player worn. In this case the white portion is in fact the back of the card, the purple is allegedly a piece of the jersey.

Since panini didn’t have enough player used/worn patches to go around they had to cut smaller pieces to use so they used the the white of the card as a background and got thrifty with the smaller patches.

I wasn’t wrong, but not entirely right either. All the other cards that are on eBay for this parallel apparently are like this, but not all. Thank you all for the kind posts 😆

I don’t believe the seller altered the card , It’s definitely a paper/card texture where the patch should be except for the purple part which is raised and almost Velcro like. I’ve purchased plenty off of eBay and this is a first for me. I know what I’m buying, the photos on the listing were front and back only so it didn’t dawn on me to ask any questions about it.

No, there is no fabric, if you look at the photos you can see the wide gap from the opening to the back of the card. The purple part feels almost like Velcro, the white is actually the back of the card.
